Pet care experience
I am an experienced sitter who loves spending time with animals. I'd love to have my own, but my work schedule does not permit long-term commitments to furry friends. I grew up working at my father's veterinary clinic, and often took on additional work as a pet sitter for his clients. Due to the family business I'm very knowledgeable about pets, and experienced at everyday tasks such as administering medications, anticipating pet-centric needs, keeping a look out for common ailments, and playing a top notch game of fetch!

My husband and I got married in Brooklyn, that weekend we wanted to send our dog on a staycation for her sake and ours! We got in touch with a few local sitters on Rover, and ended up meeting with Lauren to do a chemistry check. She was so close to where we live - don't even have to cross a street! - had a clear love of dogs and people, and said her dad was a vet, which told us all we needed to know about how well she knew animals. We met Lauren on a rainy day, during which our dog usually pouts and blinks forlornly into the drizzle, but she was waggy and happy to meet her. It was a match! Our dog is generally pretty friendly and adaptable to whatever travel situation or new environment we bring her to, so we weren't worried about her with Lauren, but when we picked her up after our wedding we were happy to see a sleepy but happy dog who had spent time with Lauren and her friends and gone on a walk in Prospect Park. Can't do much better for our first Rover experience!
Lauren is a great dog sitter. I highly recommend her to other Rover users.
My wife and I were so unbelievably happy with how Lauren cared for our pup. She was really patient with us explaining all of our English bulldog's quirks and maintenance tips and returned her in better condition than any sitter we've ever had - including family! Can't recommend Lauren high enough.

I like to know a dog's exact routine, and then stick to it as much as I can to make transitions more comfortable for the pet. I think minimizing stress is important, especially if the dog might be anxious about the absence of their owner. It's helpful to know how much exercise they are accustomed to, how they interact with other dogs we might meet in the neighborhood, prior illnesses or injuries, and whatever habits and quirks they might have day-to-day. I love all dogs, but medium and large breeds hold a special place in my heart!

I live near Grand Army Plaza and Prospect Park, which is perfect for dogs. I love long runs around the park, so furry, high-energy running partners are welcome. I also encourage naps and car rides to the beach!
