I have been pet sitting and dog walking for friends, family, neighbors, and acquaintances for at least ten years now and have worked as a vet tech and kennel manager for the last four. I ADORE all animals, and especially love working with dogs and cats. I've graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from UCF and will be living in the Orlando/Winter Park area for at least another two years. I am generally available throughout the week, though my weekends fill up fast for pet sitting in the AM and PM. I am comfortable administering medication, sitting for senior pets and pets with special needs. I am comfortable handling most pet health issues and emergencies if they were to arise, though of course those are the last things I want to happen! I have also trained under experienced dog walkers and trainers who work with shelter animals to teach walking obedience and basic training commands; I am comfortable using clicker training with positive reinforcement techniques to modify animal behavior in cats and dogs. I believe you can absolutely teach old dogs new tricks- it's all about learning to communicate with each other. My two cats know basic "here" and "down" commands, as well as high fives and other little tricks. I've even taught a beta fish to swim through a tiny hoop on command, which took a while but was very fun! I am a very open and honest person so if you have any questions please feel free to ask! I believe the key to getting things done is great communication, and I believe in striving for my best in everything I commit myself to. I enjoy hiking and running in my spare time, so hyperactive dogs are right up my alley! That being said, I have always had a soft spot for animals with special needs; I find I can make friends with most animals and I strive to truly understand their needs and personality on an individual level. I am a clean house sitter; I try to leave it cleaner when I leave than when I arrived. I am comfortable with all breeds and sizes, educated about animal health, and committed to excellent pet care.
