Quality pet care services

Pet care experience

I have experience with a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, mice, hamsters, and fish. Most of my pet experience pertains to cats and dogs. I am a cat/dog foster for the Forsyth Humane Society. Consequently, I am very comfortable and well-versed in providing a loving, stress-free, fun, temporary home to new or returning animals. I have trained many dogs, from the smallest and calmest, to the biggest and loudest. I’ve successfully taught basic commands (sit, stay/break, come here, lay down, heel/walk, go to bed/crate), as well as more complicated commands such as spin, roll over, fetch, and figure 8. I also have experience with training dogs with behavior problems, such as potty training, crate training, and socialization around cats, humans, and other dogs. I have experience with administering oral medication to dogs and cats, grooming and bathing, and taking care of senior pets. Any and all pets that come into my care will be spoiled and loved until their pawrents pick them up. On top of my hands-on experience, I am also a Certified Pet Sitter with Pet Sitters International. I am also insured as a pet service! My partner, Jimmy (the man in the pictures) will be helping me take care of your furbabies! He has had plenty of experience with larger dogs, so he will be handling most of the larger dogs that come into our care! Jimmy is in attendance at all meet and greets so that the dog/cat and their pawrents can meet him prior to booking too! Our partnership makes us able to work with dogs that have more difficult behavior problems, especially dogs with a phobia of a certain gender. I offer boarding for longer periods of time, and my nightly rate is discounted for stays longer than 7 days!

We were real happy with Lauren. She sent us videos everyday and Bentley was very happy! She was very attentive to his care and he was in great shape when we picked him up after 12 days! We would definitely stay with Lauren next time!

Lauren was my first choice because she has a fenced backyard where my dog could play. She will be my ongoing choice because she took such good care of him. Updates were plentiful throughout my trip with pics and videos, and she even sent home a little goody bag with treats for our puppy. Thanks Lauren!

Lauren and her boyfriend are the best! My girl had so much fun and was always so excited to see them. I loved knowing she was safe and happy while I was away!

Safety, trust & environment

My three cats and three dogs are all very spoiled. They are all up-to-date on their vaccines and treated for ticks and fleas regularly. I have a fenced-in backyard with two dog houses. Inside, I have two indoor dog beds, and four indoor dog crates with waterproof bedding in each. I have multiple sets of food and water bowls for dogs and cats alike. For cats, I have an entire room designated as the “cat room,” which features a litter robot, two other automated litter boxes, two water fountains, a self-heating pad, interactive toys, and a bench with a window view for sunbathing. As the cherry on top, there are cat shelves running along most of the walls for getting the zoomies out or taking an antisocial nap. I have a total of 6 cat trees in my home, with three trees featuring over 4 levels. I can allow cats in my care to socialize with my owned cats and allow them to use the cat room, or I can keep them in a separate bathroom with their own food bowls, bed, litter box, toys, and blanket! I have plenty of cat nip, cat treats, dog treats, dog biscuits, and dog bones. I usually let my dogs out into the fenced yard to use the bathroom, and I pick up their poop often to keep my yard clean and safe. I can also provide dogs (or cats) with walks around my neighborhood on a leash. My house is rarely ever empty, so there is a possibility of another Rover dog/cat or a foster dog/cat staying here at the same time as a booking. Jimmy and I securely and safely introduce each animal to the next individually (unless otherwise instructed by their owners), and separate any animals that have issues with each other. One of our goals for Rover cats and dogs in my care is socialization, as we think good socialization is a key aspect in a well-behaved dog. Many anti-social dog clients of mine have left having made new friends and made socialization progress!

Information Lauren P. would like to know about your pet

Please inform me of any special needs or little quirks that your pet has! Also, I would love to hear any concerns that you may have about your pets behavior with other animals, places, and/or people. I would also like to know if your pet has any potty or destruction problems so that I can prevent any messy accidents. Lastly, please let me know if your pet is not up-to-date on their shots or has any current health issues. I will ask for a copy of your pet’s vaccination records for your pet’s file. With the more serious information out of the way, please tell me about any specific requests you may have for your dog or cat! I want to make their stay the most comfortable and enjoyable vacation possible. I do offer basic trick training sessions with dogs during stays, a trick training session is + $5 per 10minute session (stackable to 30min). I keep training sessions short so that the dog does not lose interest in the activity or lose all of their mental stamina. I can train your dog various tricks from sit to spin! I can also work with your dog on some behavior issues, such as leash pulling, socialization, nipping, and potty training. Some dogs will progress faster than others, which means that I cannot guarantee that your dog will absorb and remember tricks from their 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd session. Dog training is a game of patience, and I’m willing to provide that patience and determination to help your dog be the best that they can be! *First-time boarding clients will receive one complimentary training session per dog!*

A typical day

I love all types of dogs and cats, from the most energetic to the calmest! For dogs, we will likely go on a walk around the neighborhood or play fetch in the yard. I live 3 minutes from a beautiful park with a lake, and I can take them there too if they do well with car rides and other dogs. Mental stimulation is essential in high-energy dogs; so I would also attempt a training session with your dog! If you’re interested in a training plan for your pup or just a fun learning day for your furry friend, I offer training sessions that can be included with any type of booking (more details in the last paragraph). I also have interactive dog puzzles that they can try! I have three different puzzles, with three different difficulty levels. I own three Australian Shepherds, so I am well versed in handling extra energy in a dog. At night, my dogs sleep in separate beds/crates that include a blanket, toys, a snuggle toy, and anything else that they may need in order to be content. For visiting dogs that have behavior problems, such as aggression toward other animals, potty issues indoors, or destructive behaviors, they will sleep in their own crate with a blanket, toys, a snuggle buddy, and anything else that is requested within reason by the owner! For visiting dogs with no behavior issues, they will be able to roam the house freely almost 24/7, including at night time. Meal times, nap time, outdoor time, and one-on-one play time will also be included in your dogs stay everyday! (With shorter visits, I will not be able to do everything listed above.) In my household, I practice a few key commands throughout the day that I feel adds structure to the pack. These commands include “stay” and “break” when going through a door, when exiting their crate, or when I give them a meal. Additionally, I have a “lay down” rule for furniture. All dogs can be on my furniture, but only if they sit/lay down when they are on something. With cats, I can offer almost any schedule that your cat is used to! My cats typically lay around the house and take various naps. Once in awhile they want to play, but it’s not often. I love playing with them when I get the chance! Cats in my care will be able to choose if they would like to nap, play, investigate, or cuddle. I also offer free pictures of your pets that are edited through adobe during their stay! (Must be requested). Regular pictures will be provided as frequently as requested, from 2 pictures a day to 1 a week!

I just finished my Associate's degree in science at Forsyth Technical Community College, and I am now applying to universities to pursue my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I am in between classes, meaning that I have plenty of time to do one of the things that I love the most: play with pets! My partner, Jimmy, will be working with me. We work together to provide the most optimal care for each of our clients.
