I was thoroughly disappointed by this sitter who claimed to have experience house sitting but barely provided a drop in service. When I met her for a greet and meet, she agreed to walk them twice a day (am and pm) and told me she was on summer break but only had a part-time job 2-10pm on the 13 July. She said she was happy to stay over if that's what I wanted. I said that's what I booked for as I need someone here at night to keep an eye on them. I told her there that one of my pups has a playdate 9-5pm on 2 days who gets dropped off by my friend. She agreed to everything. She also requested that I give her my personal phoine number so that she could send pics to me directly instead of using the Rover messaging system. After I left for the trip and the booking had started, she claimed she felt uncomfortable staying in the private secure 2 bed apartment I gave her access to with a key and door code. So I agreed to a 7am-7pm care of my 3 dogs which were being charged at $45 per dog per night for the 4 nights and 4.5 days. She agreed to it and then told me she had classes 9-12 on 2 of the booked days. If she had told me about that when I met her, I would not have booked someone who could not be there for my babies. She only showed up to feed them, walk them and then leave the house immediately for hours and would only return for their next meal time at 4pm. So my furbabies were left on their own for extended periods of time for the 4.5 days and caused damage to my flower beds, and my furniture out of boredom, including digging holes in my lawn. She was dishonest about her tasks most of which she will forget to do (like filling up their water tank, but would lie about it and claim she did. Luckily my security cameras do not lie and I was able to see recordings of them playing in the flower beds with no one to stop them. She never sent photos of my babes despite my repeated requests until the 3rd and 4th day when I did get some pics. She would also cut short their walk in the park as I was monitoring it from my driveway security cameras. She only did 1 walk a day instead of the 2 we agreed on. When the playdate dog arrived, she said she couldnt handle him for the 2nd day and asked me to cancel the playdate. But she later said she got used to him and didnt mind the playdate coming the next day. I watched the cameras and she left the house after meal time and never watched over them or played with them. I later found out she took $60 from my friend for the playdate but never informed me about it, which explained why she agreed to the 2nd playdate; because of the money and not because she liked the playdate. I find this to be very dishonest and never expected her to be such a thief. I also saw on my security camera that she brought her friend into my home without my permission. When I told her I was not comfortable with strangers in my house without my permission, she apologised and said it wont happen again. On the 4th day, she claimed that the dogs were digging holes in the lawn area, which she clearly had not noticed for the first 3 days since she was hardly there. I told her to use the pet friendly ant spray I had on the kitchen counter. She was patronizing me and condescending about the pet-friendliness of the spray as if I wouldn't know what is safe for my pets. While she was texting me about using the vinegar to spray the lawn, I saw on my monitor she was leaving the property and not doing the spraying as she said she would. When I asked her about it, she turned around in her car and returned to my house but she claimed she was headed home and decided to turn back. I find her to be a pathological liar of sorts. When I returned home from my trip, I found the apartment to have been occupied and the bed slept on and the shower used and dirty, even though she claimed she didn't feel comfortable to stay over because of my Airbnb guests who were in separate apartments on my property. The remote control to the adjustable bed had been chewed up and the cord had been plastered over with tape. She never informed me about this which showed that she had left the apartment door open when 1 of my dogs came down and played with the remote control because she was not there to supervise them. My previous sitter hired through Rover provided such a high standard of care to my babies that I didn't realize there are also dishonest imposters like Lauren on Rover. This experience with this unreliable sitter and her so-called reviews on Rover and her dishonest claims about her petsitting experience has left a bad taste for me. I will never use this sitter or Rover service again. I feel robbed of the $560 I paid her for the 24/7 care that Rover claims on the website for house sitting service but my babies got drop in service instead from someone who didn't care to spend time with them in my absence and she also stole the extra $60 from my friend for the play date.

Lauren did a fantastic job watching our German Shepard for the weekend. He’s very picky about the people he likes, but Lauren went the extra mile and spent time with him beforehand to make sure he was comfortable. She’s now one of his favorite people!
