I started off my love of animals by caring for my childhood lab, Sheila. In college when I couldn’t have pets I often volunteered my time at a local animal shelter to help exercise the dogs. As an adult I am lucky to have two awesome rescue dogs who are 9 and 11 years old and I’ve had since puppyhood. I have also adopted two rescued cats in the past. In my old neighborhood in the city I frequently did drop in cat sit visits whenever my friends with cats were traveling. I have experience with all different sizes and energy levels of cats and dogs.

Lauren accepted this job a day before we were leaving on an unexpected trip (as our regular sitter was away). Finding a new sitter unfamiliar with my 3 pages of instructions, and hundreds of post it notes filled me with anxiety. I spoke to her the evening before we left and she understood my concerns and calmed my nerves. Turns out I had nothing to worry about. She was very communicative, very reassuring and easy-going. She kept us updated and our cats were very happy and everything was perfect when we got home. I also found out that she actually pet sits for our usual sitter, so there can be no better endorsement than that.
We love having Lauren check in on our cats while we are away. Lauren is so sweet and caring, we recommend her to anyone who needs their animals taken care of.

Lauren was great with our 2 cats! We weren’t sure how using Rover would be but she took such good care of our cats. Although they mostly hid from her, she tried to play with them, and we knew our babies were safe with her. Would definitely recommend! Thank you Lauren for caring for our babies.

I am always careful to make sure that where I’m walking dogs is safe to do so (sidewalks set back from the street if possible, watching out for other passing dogs, etc). I am careful to make sure that if we are out in your yard that there is no possible path for your dog to escape. When exiting your home I am always careful to make sure the doors are locked behind me and that no cat or dog is trying to escape as I am leaving. And I’m careful to make sure there is nothing left out that they shouldn’t get into.

A typical day
If your pet has a favorite toy I would love to play fetch or any other games that he or she might enjoy. If you’d like, I can arrange to take your dog to their favorite park and I have doggie seatbelts and a hammock installed in my car for safety.

I work from home and am available most days of the week as my schedule is pretty flexible and I can be accommodating to a variety of schedules and needs when possible.
