Pet care experience
I have experience owning dogs of all ages and sizes. Growing up, my family had a large GSD/lab mix and since then, we’ve owned numerous other rescues as well as purebreds. Now that I am living completely independently in my own home, I have two golden retrievers, a Clumber spaniel, and 4 cats. My older golden is task-trained as a service animal and I learned a lot in training her. My younger golden is actually her sister. I am happy to care for any kind of dog or cat, as long as they will be comfortable in an environment with other friendly animals. I am a part-time student at Bellarmine and self-employed, so I have the flexibility to create my own schedule and modify it to fit the needs of any furry guests! I have a completely fenced back yard. I believe in crate training as a valuable tool, but can accommodate crated dogs OR non-crated ones. I have a spare bedroom and a couple of extra med/large crates that can be used to keep animals that do better by themselves or need some time to decompress in a new place separate from my crew. Again, I have my two Goldens and Spaniel that are always thrilled to have new friends and they are well-versed in manners around cats too. I also foster for LMAS and will disclose before finalizing bookings whether I have a foster currently in my care or not. At this moment, I am long-term caring for a family member’s frenchie, Bear, but he is very easygoing.
Reviews
Lauren did an incred job watching Bug (1 year old) for just under two weeks. I left special fresh food for her to feed him and I feel like she did an excellent job with my requests. I appreciate that she knows how to take care of a several dogs simultaneously and knows how to introduce them to one another for best results. I also appreciate that she has a limit to how many she can take at once, that way I know Bug is getting the attention he needs and playing with all the extra pups is a special bonus for him!
Great job with the pictures!
Lauren watched our dog for three week. Our guy was well taken care of, and it was apparent in the pictures she sent that he had a great time with the other dogs at her house. Will definitely use again in the future.
We are so glad to have found Lauren on Rover.com. This was our first time hiring someone that was not family or a friend and she kept our mind at ease while caring for our geriatric Golden Retriever. Her personal dogs are very friendly and got along great with Roosevelt. She kept us informed with updates and photos during his stay. Lauren made sure he had a lot of play time, nap time, and alone time when she observed he was exhausted; old guy can’t keep up. We asked to extend our stay at the very last minute and she was extremely accommodating. We would highly recommend Lauren to anyone needing a dog boarder and look forward to hiring her again!

Safety, trust & environment
I follow all care instructions given by owners, as I trust that they know their pets the best. I can accommodate special needs, diets, and medications too. I have taken care of everything from blind dogs that needed 3x daily eye drops, to bearded dragons that needed subcutaneous injections. My house is locked when I am not there and animals can be separated or crated as needed to insure a secure and safe environment for everyone. My backyard is fenced with primarily chain link with a section of privacy fencing by the deck. Access to the yard is direct through my back door/sunroom. I have four cameras around the exterior of the house that are connected to my security system, so your pets are SAFE in my home. I also utilize a Furbo 360°camera to keep an eye on the animals when I am away. The vets I use at Springhurst Animal Hospital are just down the road from me and they are familiar with my family and our animals. I could utilize them OR other preferred vets in case of an emergency. I keep an animal first aid kit on hand that includes gauze, wraps, styptic powder, antibiotic ointment, and Benadryl in case of an allergic reaction.

Information Lauren K. would like to know about your pet
I would prefer dogs that are not aggressive, as I do have to think of the safety of my own animals. Any resource guarding behaviors in particular should be disclosed ahead of time. Please let me know too if they have any allergies and whether or not they can have treats! I like to give my dogs small treats when I leave and crate them and then usually at bedtime. I can accommodate unaltered male and female animals, but PLEASE tell me ahead of time so I can plan ahead. Especially if a female is in heat OR if you have a male who is prone to marking in new environments. It’s very common and nothing to worry about, but I do like to be prepared. I have a few different sizes of reusable AND disposable female diapers and male belly bands that can be used if needed.
A typical day
Dogs will enjoy play time with my Goldens, a fully fenced backyard, and enrichment such as safe toys and games like fetch. My dogs go on walks in my neighborhood and occasionally elsewhere too and I’d be happy to take guests on these walks too. My dogs eat breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening. My puppy also eats an afternoon meal so I can accommodate 3x a day feedings or medication needs too. Dogs in my care will be fed on this schedule. I have found that dogs who are free-fed adjust quickly to a feeding schedule. Dogs are all fed separately to avoid any issues like resource guarding.

Availability
I am in classes part time while finishing my degree at Bellarmine. My job outside of Rover is an independently contracted delivery driver, so my schedule is extremely flexible. I am never far from home and I make sure to be home even more when I have guest animals.
