Does your fur child need a friend?

Pet care experience

I’ve always been inspired by dogs. They’re always full of happiness, but, more importantly, they have an amazingly selfless spirit. They just want to do the best thing for you possible, and I absolute love that about them! That selfless spirit has always made me want to do whatever I can to bring more puppy happiness into the world, so being a dog sitter really is a dream come true for me! I love being able to meet new dogs whenever I can, so getting to do that professionally is just amazing! I grew up on a farm in North Carolina, so I have wide experience working with various animals. I have never not had a dog, and usually my family takes on several dogs at a time! We have a soft spot in our hearts for dogs with disabilities, or that need a little bit of extra TLC. Accordingly, I have experience with a variety of issues such as Parvo, joint pain, Arthritis, liver and thyroid issues, Cushing’s disease, and working with elderly dogs. I have even successfully performed dog CPR on a choking puppy! Recently, I have gotten much more experience with small dogs (over the past 7 years) as I had never before that had anything smaller than a Lab, and have really grown to love them quite a bit. I do have experience with very large dogs as well, but cannot board them at this time. When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. I know how difficult it can be to be away from your pup, so I’m here to make that time as easy as possible for you. I believe in taking care of your pup as if they were my very own, so making sure they receive all the love in the world is always a must! However, I also like to get as much information as possible about the ins and outs of your pup’s life. That way, I can get a good picture of how to provide them with the best environment possible. Once they’re in my care, I provide owners with lots of regular updates and keep them in the loop on everything from meal preps to exercise times. Likewise, there will always be tons of pictures so you can see just how much fun your pup and I are having together!

Lauren was absolutely amazing and treated our dogs as her own! They got plenty of exercise and went on some adventures. Lauren was extremely responsive and sent us regular updates with pictures everyday!

Lauren was able to watch our Corgi during our vacation. We were very happy, and he had a wonderful time.

Lauren was more than amazing while taking care of Nacho for a weekend! I couldn't have asked for more, seriously. I'm particularly concerned when I leave Nacho with anyone, because he has escaped on multiple occasions from other people's houses. Lauren was extremely careful the whole time, so I was always confident that he would be in good hands. She was very prompt to send me pictures and updates of Nacho every day. Those pictures were evidence that he was being treated in the best way possible during his stay. I couldn't be happier about Nacho's stay with Lauren. I highly recommend her and will certainly ask her to take care of Nacho in the future. Thanks for everything!!

Information Lauren J. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: - Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? - What’s your preferred method of communication? - Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? - Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? - Is your dog spayed/neutered? - Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? - What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? - What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

There are a couple of options for what your pup and I could do during the day while I’m at work. They could simply stay at home while I am at work, or I could reduce my time and work remote for most of the day, or I could even bring them with me to work! It would depend on their personality and needs, but I’m happy to be flexible and accommodate their needs. Before and after work, we’d make sure to get some outdoor time in, so that we could explore our surroundings a bit and get out in the sunshine. I love going on slow walks on the trails and at the park. I especially love the trails around my apartment complex, which allow me to take different dogs on different lengths of walks easily. For example, my dog Reba does not like to walk so I take her on a couple laps with my other dog and then drop her off at home. There is an amazing off leash dog park near me that I like, so that’s definitely an option if we want to make some new friends! I would definitely call myself a homebody, however, so I tend to be a better fit for dogs that are on the easygoing side.
