Hi! I'm a lifelong dog lover with 30+ years' experience raising, training, and caring for dogs (growing up and as an adult). I'm currently between dogs of my own and looking for some doggie companionship before I adopt a new family member, so I'll love and care for your pup as my own during the time you entrust him/her with me. I have a fully fenced backyard and work from home full-time; I'm happy to have your pup at my place, or stay with him/her at yours. (I'll be going back to the office one day per week starting in mid-April, but still working from home the other 4.) I'm a runner, so if your pup likes to run, I'm always happy for a running buddy - we can run along Rock Creek Trail or around my Takoma Park neighborhood; or if your pup prefers, we can just stay home and have tummy rubs. And I'm experienced with obedience training, so I'm happy to work on that as well, if you'd like. Looking forward to meeting and spoiling your sweetheart! (Two caveats: First, I request that your pup be up to date on flea treatment - for his/her own sake, as well as the sake of my place and the pups who come later. And second, they must be fully house trained. Unless they're a puppy and you're actively working on it, in which case - PUPPY!! We can definitely work on it. :) )

Lauren was really great with my dog, Skittles. She sometimes gets a bit anxious when she's away from home but she was really comfortable with Lauren. She got lots of excercise and playtime and was happy and relaxed at the end of her stay! Bonus that Skittles wasn't feeling great when I dropped her off and Lauren was really accomodating with feeding her the bland food I sent along! I got plenty of updates and was really happy with Lauren's communication, plus she took so many cute photos!
We've had Lauren both board our dog champ at her home and stay at our place. She is awesome! She sends amazing pics, takes the longest walks, and treats him like her own! I highly recommend her to watch your creatures.
Lauren gave excellent care to our slow-to-warm-up 12 year old dog when we had to travel on short notice to a funeral. Her warmth, caring and responsibility gave us peace of mind, too. We knew our home and our dog would be in trusted hands with Lauren. P.S. The many photos she sent were most welcome!

Lots of attention, love, and affection! Also regular walks/potty breaks, feeding as instructed, and as much or as little exercise/stimulation as your pup prefers. There are other dogs in the neighborhood to play with, if your pup is dog-friendly; or if not, we just keep to ourselves. Also, I never take more than one dog at a time, so your pup will get all my attention while he/she is with me. My house does have stairs - a few at the front door, then stairs up to the bedrooms; and also hardwood floors that can be a little slippery. So, if your pup has trouble with stairs, please let me know - we can probably work around it, but something to keep in mind.

A typical day
We can play ball in the fenced backyard; go for walks on Rock Creek or Sligo trails, and/or head to the dog park, depending on your pup's preferences. I run on Rock Creek Trail often, so that's my go-to spot with pups, too,

Availability
I work from home, so getting out for regular walks is easy. I'm also active and near a few great parks and trails, if your pup likes a morning/evening game of fetch or a run on the trail. And, I have a cozy, quiet house and am happy to supply plentiful ear scratches, tummy rubs, and treats.
