Pet care experience
Hello!! My name is Lauren and I currently work at UAB and am also pursuing my Masters Degree. I used to work at a local doggy daycare so I have experience with all ages, sizes, and temperaments (and handling up to thirty dogs at a time). I had two senior/special needs dogs of my own (and a bunny) so I am very comfortable with medication and all things that come with SN and senior dogs. I am CPR certified and very familiar with animal first aid. Safety is my first priority in all situations. I think it is important to send video/picture updates while you're away for your peace of mind. I treat every animal as if they were my own (and spoil them as such)! Lauren was a wonderful pet caregiver to our three lively pups! She shared photos with us throughout the week AND when we arrived home it was just as clean (maybe cleaner) than when we left! Lauren is also a pleasure to communicate with. We will definitely ask her to care for our home and our pups the next time we go out of town!
I cannot recommend Lauren enough! We were out of town for several days, and Lauren watched all three of our pups. She took time to play with them, fed them on their schedule and made sure they got exercise. She truly did a fantastic job, and we will definitely be using her again in the future!

I think it is important for your animal's safety, as well as my own, to know your dogs temperament before I visit. Likes/dislikes, fears, quirks, etc. will help me better care for your dog. I ask for meet and greets prior to booking with all my clients if time allows. I do not have any breed preference, I love all dogs. I used to work at a doggy daycare so I am familiar with most breeds and I grew up with mixed breeds and Cocker Spaniels.
A typical day
I am familiar with all the dog parks and walking trails in the surrounding area. I am happy to go for long hikes, swims, and play dates or chill out and cuddle if that's what your fur-baby likes. You can tell me what you need or want and I will make it happen!

I work in downtown Birmingham on UABs Campus but I am happy to discuss schedule specifics further to ensure all needs and expectations are met as there is extreme flexibility in my schedule. With advanced notice (and a wifi connection) I can typically work remotely.
