Reliable & Compassionate Pet Care

Pet care experience

As a pet parent, I understand wanting the best for our animals and I will treat your pets as my own. I’m happy to administer medications or supplements, prepare homemade meals, or accommodate your pet’s unique needs. Don’t be afraid to communicate any concerns or special requests! I have worked with animals with a variety of physical limitations, behavioral issues, and quirks :) I also understand all too well the anxiety towards trusting someone else with your pet’s care so I always send Rover Cards with pictures and notes at every visit to put your mind at ease and cheer you up with those beautiful slobbery faces while you’re away. ABOUT ME: I currently work part-time as an Animal Care Tech at Alaqua Animal Refuge. I have a 10 year old Hawaiian-born "velcro dog" Catahoula and Bully mix named Lily who loves to cuddle and practice agility with me. I have always connected with animals; I grew up with cats, dropped in on neighbor’s cats and dogs as a kid, have helped care for family and friend’s pets of all sizes, and have been offering pet care in Panama City Beach for a year and a half. I have limited experience with small animals and fish, and always love to learn more about other species. I even have experience with sea turtle and seal husbandry!

Lauren did a remarkable job walking and caring for Hux. He absolutely loved her and looked forward to her arrival everyday. She was so professional and proficient. She has to be the best Rover anywhere!

Lauren was great! The Rover app told me every time she started her visit and when she left. She took pictures on every visit and I could tell my cat was very comfortable with her. Thank you Lauren:)

First time leaving my girl and Lauren couldn't have been any better! Put my mind at ease to see how happy Pearl was with Lauren. A great balance of play and cuddles. Lauren even had to deal with a snake and toad in the yard and dealt with it better than I would have! Thanks again! Would highly recommend Lauren and I don't trust just anyone with my dog.

SERVICES: [Meet & Greet]
If this will be our first booking, I require a Meet & Greet with you and your pets at your home before we confirm. I do not charge for the Meet & Greet, and it usually takes less than 30 minutes. This gives us the opportunity to discuss specifics, and ensures that I can get to your home and know where everything is located. Most importantly, the Meet & Greet allows your pets to get to know me in your presence, so the first time we're alone together I’m not a stranger! [Dog Walking]
Safety is my priority on walks. I am always mindful of the environment, paying attention to body language, and looking out for potential triggers. I keep my hip belt full of poop bags for cleanup and yummy treats (if allowed) for positive reinforcement. I can jog with the more energetic dogs, or take it slow and smell the roses with the more laid back and senior pups. Please let me know if you have any specific rules on walks, any leash manners you'd like me to enforce, or if you dog has any triggers that you are aware of. [Drop-Ins Visits]
I am flexible with drop-ins and walks, and price them the same. I will spend at least 30 minutes (or 60 minutes) with your pets; that time can include any combination of walking, playing in your yard, hanging out together in the house, feeding, or cleaning litter boxes/indoor potty areas. Just let me know your preferences! I’m also happy to water plants or bring in the mail while you’re away. I do not charge extra for additional pets, just please be aware that if you have more than 2 animals in need of care, we might need to book an hour visit so they are all getting enough time and attention! [Sitting]
I don't offer overnight House Sitting, but can do multiple Drop-Ins a day when you're out of town. To ensure that your dogs receive adequate care and potty-breaks, I do require a minimum of 3 visits a day if I will be the only one caring for them in a 24-hour period. To keep costs down, I will discount the 3rd visit 50%.

Information Lauren D. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pets have any of the following: - Food restrictions (due to allergies/sensitivities, weight concerns, prescription diets) - Triggers (other dogs, small animals, bikes, men, children) - Dangerous habits (chasing cars, eating things they shouldn't, escaping from collars/harnesses) - Physical limitations (injuries, arthritis) - Difficulty "holding it" due to age or health issues, or if they are prone to UTIs - Separation anxiety - Any other behavioral or medical concerns I need to know about Do you have any house rules or leash manners that you want me to enforce while they are with me? If you will be out of town, please leave updated veterinary information. If you will be difficult to reach while away, please make sure they have a credit card on file and someone is authorized to make care decisions on your behalf. It is also helpful to have a local contact just in case there is any kind of emergency and I am unable to reach you.

A typical day

Every animal is unique. I'm happy to tailor walks and visits to your and your pet's preferences; whether they need lots of exercise, prefer mental stimulation, love cuddles, or just want someone to keep them company while they eat :)

Availability

I work part-time at Alaqua Animal Refuge and am available for dog walks and drop-in visits from 7:00 am-9:00 pm on my days off. I do my best to get to your pets as close to your requested time as possible, and when petsitting I am mindful of keeping the time between visits to a minimum. If your visit times are flexible, please give me a preferred window of time and/or the maximum amount of time your pets can be alone between visits so that I can be sure to get to all the pets in my care at the best possible times for everyone. I can take clients within a 10 mile commute from my home in Lower Grand Lagoon: East of 79 in Panama City Beach or West of Lisenby Ave in Panama City.
