One day I hope to own a shelter or dog rescue organization, but until then, being a Rover sitter has been a great experience. I've had 1-2 dogs since I could remember, but since our Lhasa passed away in 2020, after 10 wonderful years. In January 2023 we adopted a new dog, a 15-lb male mutt, who LOVES other dogs but is still a bit skittish so we have to be a bit careful accepting new dog clients. My husband Andy (co-pilot in Rover sitting) and I spend our free time in Sonoma Square, on bike trails/hiking trails, and love to walk for exercise. I treat the dogs we babysit like I do my own, do not let them out of my sight/off leash, and send multiple photos each day to keep all owners up to date on all of our walks and adventures. We both work from home, so it's very easy for me to be available to watch pups! Please note we have a young kid who’s very gentle (ambivalent, in most cases) with dogs. Dogs must be used to having kids around. We have a fully fenced in backyard with patio furniture that's very dog friendly! We have a front yard and live on a quiet st. All dogs must have a history with Rover and show a good record with past sitters.
