Pet care experience
I'm a huge animal personal and I decided to join Rover so I could not only hang out with animals more but also give back to local rescues! I grew up with a menagerie of animals and own two cats myself. I have constantly looked for ways to help give back to our animal communities and one way I try to give back is by pledging 3% of my Rover earnings to The Orphan Kitten Club run by San Diego's Hannah Shaw (@kittenxlady) as a way to help those that need it the most. I also am a volunteer with the San Diego Humane Society. I have pet sat for a wide range of animals including: dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, fish, etc. I am use to all different type of animal personalities and temperaments. For longer stays I would love to vary your pet's day with dog walks, other enrichment games, and visiting local dog parks. I am CPR certified and have completed emergency response training. Lauren was superb at communicating! Sent detailed updates about how our boy was doing, which we loved! Very thankful for her watching our Echo over the NY weekend while we were out of town! As well as coming back to a tidy home! Highly recommend!

I offer housesitting only because I have cats and dogs personally and do not want to stress my animals by bringing in new guests. When I am housesitting, I take the pets on a walk with a leash and typically avoid any possible triggers (people, children, other animals, etc.) by crossing the street or turning around. I make sure anything I bring over is out of reach for pets to prevent anxious chewing. I always check dietary requirements and allergies for animals with owners so I can make sure animals are as safe as possible while in my care.

I go through a series of questions when it comes to staying with a pet. I ask about health needs or concerns. I also ask about the pet's schedule and temperament so I can make the adjustment as easy as possible. I also like to ask about specific dietary requirements or play time needs. I don't have any breed preferences, I welcome all different types of breeds. I have sat 120 pound St. Bernards all the way to 7 pound Yorkies. I do have a special love for hounds and pointers because I grew up with an English Pointer and Weimaraner.
A typical day
There are many different options for activities with your pup! From neighborhood walks to good ol' belly scratches. I also love to play enrichment games for cats and dogs. We could go to dog parks even if you don't live locally to one. I have a car where I wouldn't mind driving somewhere larger for your pup to play. I've been known to bring different cat toys from home to keep your pet surprised and entertained with new things to chase and hunt. I also like to surprise pets with occasional homemade treats (if their diet allows it). I try to always treat your animals the way I would treat mine.
