Pet care experience
I have an adamant passion for animals and just graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Maryland. My family always had dogs and cats growing up, so I am very comfortable and familiar with caring for them. For years, I worked as an animal caretaker on the UMD campus farm where I fed, cleaned, and administered medical treatments on sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, and horses. Also, I worked as an animal caretaker at the Animal Research Facility at UMD where I cared for mice, guinea pigs, ferrets, quail, rats, and rabbits. If you have an exotic pet, or a pet that requires additional medical attention/treatment, you won't find another caretaker with my level of experience and compassion (unless they're a vet!). I also have experience as a veterinary technician. I am an experienced animal caretaker, so you can rest easy knowing your pets are safe and having fun. Classes taken at UMD: -Companion Animal Care and Management -Domestic Animal Anatomy and Physiology -Applied Animal Behavior -Animal Handler's Course -Aquaculture -Laboratory Animal Management -Small Ruminant Parturition -Animal Genetics -Zoonotic Diseases and Control Other Certifications: -Animal First Aid and CPR certified -Certified in canine and feline nutrition through the University of California Davis Extension Program.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lauren and the care and attention she provided my dog. First of all, she has studied vet science....so she's like a real pet-nurse and looked out for his health and gave good advice. She's a natural with animals. My doggie loved her from the minute she walked onto the property. I highly recommend Lauren as a caregiver for your furry family!!!! She was on time and professional. I was able to leave town and know my pet was totally cared for and loved until my return. Worth every penny.
Lauren is the best, I know when i drop off my pet that he is being well taken care of. She loves animals and you can see it.
We can't say enough wonderful things about Lauren and her family and the care and love they gave to our dog Tanner when while we were gone. We got pictures with cute captions a few times a day showing us what he was up to, and that made us laugh. He always looked so happy to be with the family and their pets. They have a huge home that is totally pet friendly and an awesome yard for the animals to play in. Tanner had full run of the house and made friends with everyone. Since he has been home he has been resting because he had so much fun running and playing he is pooped out. I would definitely recommend Lauren to anyone who wants to go away and not have to worry one minute about their beloved pet. She is absolutely fantastic. I only hope we still have pets when she becomes a vet so we can take them to her.
Lauren is an exceptional person when it comes to caring for animals and is extremely knowledgeable in the area of diet and nutrition. She will take the extra time to ensure that any animals in her care are properly fed, cleaned and that they get plenty of affections and exercise!

A typical day
We will go on walks around your neighborhood. I usually keep the same trail that the dogs are accustomed to with their owners. Time I'll spend with your dog I cannot provide a definite answer (in hours) because every dog is different. I like to spend as much time as possible providing affection and playing with the dog(s). We can play anything from fetch outside on a sunny day to tug-of-war with your dog's favorite toys!
