At K9Home our guests are family!
Pet care experience
PLEASE READ COMPLETELY BEFORE MAKING REQUESTS :) ***I have a 5 year old and a new baby who arrived May 2022, all new guests MUST be baby/child friendly. This is a requirement, not a suggestion. And no, I will not evaluate your dog’s reaction to children by using my own kids. *No power? No problem! K9Home is now equipped with a stand-by generator so your pets can stay comfortable in the event of a power failure. I'm Lauren, I'm 35 years old and I have a lifetime of experience caring for a wide variety of pets from fish and reptiles to dogs and cats. I also have TEN years of professional experience managing busy commercial doggy day camp and boarding facilities and have been boarding in my home for over 6 years. A typical day in my house includes cuddles before and after every meal, unlimited potty breaks and play times in my large, fenced yard, and full access to the comfy FURniture! My family dogs have been highly socialized from puppyhood and provide excellent companionship to my guests. Pets are my passion and I know, as a pet-parent, how important it is to have a sitter you can trust and feel comfortable with. I can offer you the highest quality of professional care in a loving home environment instead of a cold concrete kennel! If you're still not sure, I can provide you with some excellent references from satisfied visitors! Guests will be fed in large crates which can be provided by me or brought from home. This is to prevent any potential food aggression when other dogs are present. Nail trimming can be done for an additional $12. Bathing can be done before departure (based on availability), price will vary by pet. This is my full time job so I'm always available for cuddles with your pet but on the odd occasion I need to run out I will use my best judgement (and your input) to determine whether guests are allowed to have free run of my home or should be crated/separated from other guests or my family dogs. -All guests must provide proof of current vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella) prior to the Meet and Greet (a photo sent via text or email is sufficient). -Guests MUST be spayed or neutered (males by 10 months, females by 7 months). -Guests must be housebroken. -Guests must be baby/child friendly. NO EXCEPTIONS. -A Meet-and-greet will be required at least 24 hours prior to boarding or daycare (This may be waived at my discretion depending on age/breed/socialization level). -Meet and greets will be conducted at my home in my back yard. Days and times are flexible but weather dependent. -In addition to Rover's terms of service, I require all clients to sign my own boarding agreement prior to drop off. -A $25 fee will be added to any reservation requests for same day service. I am currently home full time to care for your pets. We typically go outside for potty breaks/play time every two hours or so depending on weather. I care for pet guests exactly as I care for my own family dogs. Most pets (including my own) eat and sleep in kennels for safety. Indoors all dogs have free access to our mud room and adjacent bathroom as well as our full, finished (just for the dogs) basement. During indoor play times guests may be invited to join us on the sofa for sofa/TV time. Outdoors we have over an acre of fully fenced property for the dogs to enjoy including their own closed dog run (approximately 45'x100') which has toys and outdoor play equipment to climb on. Water is provided indoors and outdoors in multiple locations throughout the day.
Reviews
Great outdoor space, friendly and knowledgable sitter. Our dogs have never been boarded before and came home tired but happy.
Our dog seemed very excited to stay with Lauren. It was her first experience boarding overnight, and Lauren was very patient and understanding (with us and with our dog). She made it much easier to be away from our dog overnight!
Lauren is a fantastic den mother! And an equally good dog photographer! Highly recommend!
Lauren was awesome - it’s obvious she loves what she does! It was such a comfort knowing my pup was in good, capable hands. Lauren went above and beyond to ensure my pup would feel comfortable staying overnight. Highly recommend!

Information Lauren A. would like to know about your pet
K9Home does not discriminate against any particular breeds. Through many, many years of observation and working with dogs I have learned that any individual dog may behave outside of what is considered stereotypical for its breed, whether that behavior is good or bad. What's most important to me is to complete the Meet and Greet to evaluate the individual's personality and temperament to asses whether he or she will be a good fit with my resident dogs and other guests. Some information that I find useful to know before hand: 1) Is your pet spayed/neutered? 2) Is your pet well socialized? (experience with doggy daycare/boarding, dog parks, training, play dates, etc.) 3) Has your dog ever exhibited aggressive or dominant behavior with other dogs or people? (humping, biting/baring teeth, snarling)
A typical day
All doggy guests at K9Home are treated like family. When the weather is fair we will spend as much time outside as possible. As long as guests can share nicely, we have an abundance of tennis balls and toys available to play with and our special doggy swimming pool! If the weather isn't cooperating we'll curl up on the couch or in bed and catch up on movies and TV!
