Hello, my name is Lauren! I am a lover of all creatures, and have been caring for animals for over 25 years. I grew up participating in 4-H, raising and training guide dogs, dairy goats, rabbits, chickens, cats and fish and have taught classes on animal husbandry and wellness. I have been dog and house sitting since I was 11 years old, and continue to love to create the best home away from home for visiting pups. I have many years of dog training experience and feel very comfortable around all animals. While you are away, I will care for your home, garden and all of your animals needs while keeping you updated with frequent photos and updates. I am happy to come pick up/drop off your pet for an additional fee depending on your needs. I also can groom or trim nails for an additional fee while your animal is in my care.

You know you have a great dog sitter when you’re worried your dog won’t want to leave when you go to pick him up. Charlie was healthy, happy, clean and appropriately exhausted after 8 days with Lauren. The size difference between Charlie (22-ish pounds) and Lauren’s German Shepard wasn’t an issue at all. Her dog is a gentle giant. It is worth every penny having Lauren take care of your pet! We will be repeat clients.

In our home we have 1 dog, a 4 year old very friendly German Shepherd Morty.Morty is very accustomed to having visitor pups come to stay and has great intuition when meeting and playing with visitor friends. I take in up to 3 pups at a time in my own home to reduce any additional stress for your dogs or mine. We have a fenced in grassy yard where pups can play outside. I am at home all day, so I am always with the animals. I am happy to house sit for your animals if they are more comfortable in their own home. I have experience caring for aquariums, birds, reptiles, livestock and plants.

Please let me know ahead of time if your dog has has any food/toy/animal aggression, anxiety, or any other special behavior or medical needs. If your dog is boarding at my home, I ask that we scheduled a meet and greet with my dogs ahead of time so that all animals will be comfortable during their pup vacation.
A typical day
I like to structure our days around fun dog friendly outdoor activities based on the the animals needs and the weather. On nice days, we take a 45 min hike around the trails by our home, swimming in the Truckee river, playing ball in the back yard or park, or off leash hiking in the hills ( if your dog has excellent recall) .For indoor days (smoke season) I create puzzle toys and scent games around the house to keep everyone brains stimulated. I frequently cook meals for my dogs, and have been known to make a mean bone broth meal topper. I am also experienced with senior dogs and administering medication. Please let me know ahead of time if your animal has any special dietary, exercise or medical needs.
