Pet care experience
I started cat-sitting for my neighbors when I was 15 and have loved caring for pets ever since. I have experience pet-sitting cats and kittens, dogs (from puppies to a Neapolitan Mastiff), rabbits, rats, spiders, fish, and macaws. I also have experience with special needs pets such as two-week-old kittens, kitties who need IV fluids or shots, and cats and dogs and macaws who require oral medication. I am comfortable with snuggling a pet all day or giving them their space. I am able to go for long walks around the neighborhood or on hikes with your canine athlete, or I can spend an hour walking your senior pup one whole block. I have some experience training dogs with basic commands, so I can and will adhere to your training regimen and use your dog's commands as instructed. Please feel free to ask me questions about my experience and abilities. I would love the opportunity to become friends with your pet!
Reviews
Laura is a life saver. For someone new to dogs and especially rescue dog, she has always worked well, encouraging Oscar and I and available when we need her.
Laura did an amazing job caring for my cat who requires multiple medications (including an asthma inhaler) twice a day while I was out of town. She made sure to send updates and cute photos every day. Would book again!
Laura was extremely professional yet loving to our two pups that do require some extra TLC for various reasons. She kept us updated on the daily events and walks and feeding updates. She was open to all our little finicky needs for our pups without any reservations. Very prompt in her communication and never let us feel our babies were ever alone or without their regular loving care. Highly recommend her.
Our Corgis loved Laura! She provided detailed daily updates with lots of pictures. There was a tornado warning while we were away, and she called us to ensure we knew they were safe and in the basement. We got back into town super late, and Laura stayed with our boys until we got home. She even started a load of laundry for the towels and sheets she used to make our lives easier! This was our first time using Rover and we plan on using Laura again whenever possible!

I always provide a free meet-and-greet for first time clients so that I can get to know you and your pets. I offer drop-in for visits and house/pet-sits in your home in the St. Louis area. I am able to spend the night in your home with your pets if needed for company and for late night/early morning potty breaks and meals. I also offer dog walks around your neighborhood or (with your permission) at dog parks or on hiking trails nearby. I live in the St. Louis Hills area and do need to charge travel fees for Rover visits more than a 15-minute drive away from Willmore Park.
Information Laura Y. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed restrictions or preferences. I ask that you provide me with a thorough introduction to your pet so that I understand their personality and needs before I spend time with them alone.
A typical day
For house-sits, I provide all meals and potty breaks according to the pet's routine. I ask that you let me know how often your dog needs potty breaks during a house-sit so that I never leave a dog dancing. Please also let me know how many daily walks your dog would like to take! I'm comfortable in the snow, heat, rain, and sunshine, so we can make a walk happen as long as the weather isn't dangerous! For drop-in visits for dogs, I provide a potty break, a meal if needed, water refreshment, and playtime or cuddles or short walks, according to the dog's preferences. For drop-in visits for cats, I provide meals if needed, water refreshment, poop-scooping, and playtime, cuddles, or space according to the cat's preferences.
