Best Pup Hangout In Town!

Pet care experience

I've been a professional dog lover for about 10 years now. This has introduced me to many sizes, colors and breeds. I've interacted with many puppies as well as many seniors. Every pup has taught me a lesson that I've been able to implement into my dog walking now. I have experience in dog sitting, dog boarding and dog walking. I know every pup experience is unique and I love knowing that each pup will be a new challenge and journey. I've also been lucky enough to sit for fish, hamsters and turtles. They may be little but they too require love and pampering. I always make sure to treat each as my own. My parents are huge dog lovers and I by the time I was born, my family already owned a dog named Benji. As I grew up, we kept adding to our canine family. When I was about 18 I decided to adopt a pup from the pound and I can honestly say it's been the best decision of my life. Her name is Sweet Pea and she's a Pug Mix. She's been with me now almost 11 years. She was a great companion until she went blind about a year ago. It's now my turn to care for her and protect her. Everyday is a gift with her. We recently rescued a Schnauzer Mix puppy we named Walter. He was hit by a car and no one believed in him. Sweet Pea and I welcomed him into our home and helped him through his physical therapy and taught Walter to walk again. He's now the man of the house and enjoys running around in our backyard. Canine clients are the best clients! I will make sure my new four legged friend has fresh water and appropriate outside time. I will make sure to offer love and affection to those pups that yearn for this and also learn to respect space for those pups that prefer some independence. My human clients will probably get sick of my cute pictures and videos I send throughout the day. I make sure to capture moments throughout our day and send them to the doggy parents. I also send about 2-3 verbal reports of how the pup is doing and share funny stories of the day.

Laura and her family were wonderful. Our Seamus stayed for 12 days. Lots of pictures and updates. Meeting Laura beforehand, viewing the house and back yard was really helpful. My husband and I had a great holiday and never worried about Seamus. Seamus greeted us, healthy and happy. Laura was very respectful of Seamus' feeding. I cannot recommend Laura and her family strongly enough. Take that holiday you have always wanted, your dog will be loved and cared for while you are away. Thank you Laura.

We left our 4 month old lab Molly with Laura for a week. Molly was very happy and comfortable with Laura. Laura was great keeping us informed on Molly every day. It is clear that Laura kept Molly active and happy! Thank you Laura for a wonderful job caring for our beloved Molly! You are definitely our first choice for caring for Molly in our absence!

Information Laura V. would like to know about your pet

I've concluded that Meet and Greets are the way to go! It's the best opportunity for the pet, the owner and the dog professional to meet and really see if the chemistry is there. The pet needs to hit it off immediately with the dog professional. Some shyness is normal at first but after a few minutes the pup should feel more comfortable being around the walker/sitter. The owner can really take this time to ask more questions or get to know the walker/sitter. I'm open to all sizes when it comes to dog sitting. The pup will be in his/her own environment so it'll be less stressful for the pup and owner. I prefer to board smaller pups simply because I have two of my own. I don't want my guest pup or my own to feel too overwhelmed with the stay. When it comes to walking, I'm comfortable with small to medium sizes. I want to make sure I am in full control of the walk. I never want a pup to get hurt during our walk simply because I couldn't stay in control of the leash. I know pups get excited on walks and it's only normal. I’ll want to know everything I can about your dog, so don’t hesitate to lay it all out for me!

A typical day

I'm usually up by 7 AM letting the pups out to stretch their legs in the backyard or going on a nice walk to start the day. This walk is followed by a nutritious and balanced breakfast previously chosen by the owner. I always make sure to include a treat for dessert. Normally the pup will go and take a nap and later we hop in the car for a visit to the local dog park. We come back home to some fresh water and some relaxing time. This includes toy time or watching Animal Planet. Dinner time approaches and while some pups only get one meal a day, there's always the choice for a yummy treat. We conclude our day with our last walk just as the sun is setting and the day has cooled down. We head off to bed after getting some kisses and love. Walks are always so much fun! I also love to explore different dog parks on my walks all around the city. Some areas have more paths with grassy areas and other places are too busy to just walk on the sidewalks. In cases like that I get permission from the owner to visit the local dog park to give the pup more room to stretch, while keeping safety as the priority. I always make sure to bring poop bags and water on each walk, keeping in mind how hot it is in Miami and how easily a pup can experience heat exhaustion. Some areas of the city have nice and quiet streets with trees that form a canopy of shade. It's rewarding to see a pup sniff so many trees and leaves along our walk. You can just see how happy they are.
