Pet care experience
I retired several years ago (at an early age) and was able to focus more attention on my Great Danes. I began rescuing these extra-large breed dogs over 20 yrs ago - my heart just swells with love for dogs! I treat them like my children, communicate with them, listen to them & bond with them. I am the Alpha of my pack & my "boys" know and respect that. I am very firm in leading my pack and reward desirable behaviors. I pay attention to body language & the way they look at each other. I am aware of the energy between the dogs. I exercise my boys frequently to avoid boredom. A dog who is tired from playing is a happy dog indeed! I am generous with my affection, praise, snuggles & kisses! I have never, ever given up on a dog! I do daycare, boarding & walking of all breeds and all sizes & ages. I would love to watch your furry family while you are away -- and I want you to rest assured that they are happy, healthy & well-taken care of! I take a LOT of photos of your pet & send them to you so you can see they are doing fantastic! I communicate well in regard to concerns, issues, behaviors or anxiety. I will maintain any schedules and medication that you already have in place for your dog. I do offer a basic dog bath for a small extra fee. Our house has been renovated to accommodate furry family members -- from cool tile floors, to raised dog bowls (for the taller breeds), to soft twin bed mattresses & blankets to sleep on (the floor is hard!). I feed the furry visitors in a separate area so they can relax & eat in peace. I also provide a quiet open kennel area if they want some private, alone time away from the pack. I do welcome them on our furniture for more attention!

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our first time with Rover or a dog sitter! Laura is warm and friendly and clearly knows her stuff when it comes to dogs. The whole house is set up for them, and I slept easy knowing Watson was in capable hands! 10/10!
Laura was amazing. She help our family go out of town on a last minute trip and she was able to take Charlie in. She help Charlie and us get used to the other dogs around and she made her feel welcomed as well as us. She sent pictures everyday so we would know she was okay. We trusted Charlie was in great hands. We will be using her again and again. Thank you for everything we are so grateful to have found Laura. I would recommend her to everyone she is amazing and knows what she is doing.
We are so grateful for a wonderful care Laura provided for our dog Harley. From the first time we met Laura and her family, we felt comfortable and confident that our dog will be closely supervised and entertained! Laura's dogs are very obedient and well-behaved and Laura is constantly watching all of them. Harley immediately made some friends and was very happy to play with them during her stay. Laura sent us constant updates during walks, play time and rest time and we loved seeing our baby happily smiling from the pictures! Thanks again to Laura for opening her home to our baby girl!
This was the first time that my husband and I left our pet Georgia with a sitter. I was a bit nervous about leaving her with a sitter. As it turned out, Georgia was in doggy heaven during her time Laura. I am beyond thrilled to have Laura take care of Georgia anytime. Laura’s love for dogs is so apparent and wonderful to see! Georgia loves Laura and so do we!!!!

Our home is very secure with high fences. Someone once asked if we have doggy doors for access to our backyard — can you imagine a doggy door for a Great Dane? We leave our sliding back door open all day so the pups can go in & out all day. I have security cameras as well. The pups are never home alone. Either my husband or I are with them at all times.

A typical day
Not only is our backdoor open to our backyard all day so the dogs can go in & out all day, but several times a day, I take them for long walks in the field behind our house. It is 80 acres that go all the way to the mountains! I exercise them very often & reinforce basic commands. Plenty of toys for fetching, chewing & tossing around. During the hot weather, I have a shallow kiddie pool as a special treat to frolic in!

Being retired, my schedule is wide open! I get to be with dogs all day and work in my art studio inside & outside while playing with your fur family! I feel like I am living in a dream!!
