Work at home dad and stay home mom
Pet care experience
Hello! I’m Laura – your go-to resource for dog care! I’ve had over 20 years of experience caring for puppies to senior dogs and all ages in between and love them all! Because my husband is a work from home dad and I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom (my kids are two fun loving boys and 6 year old miniature poodle mix Teddy), we have a flexible weekly schedule. This also means we have tons of experience managing high energy, sometimes chaotic situations and have an abundance of patience, humor, and love to go around. We would be honored to care for your dog with love and kindness while you are away. Depending on what your dog enjoys, we would love to cuddle and play or just chill and hang out with them. Whatever your pup needs to be happy and feel safe and secure – we will do everything we can to make that happen. I will send lots of pictures and updates during their stay so that you can see for yourself how content and happy your pup is with us – hopefully that will put a smile on your face, as well! You can relax easy knowing that your furbaby is safe and having a wonderful vacation with us while you are away. Can’t wait to meet you and your special pal! P.S. We really want to make sure that the experience of your pup staying with us is a positive one for everyone. And so I wanted to include a list of characteristics that we aren’t really equipped to handle. There’s a wonderful rover sitter for every dog, I just know it! So if these characteristics describe your pup, please know that we are so sorry, but that we won’t be able to board them: -- Fleas. If your dog has fleas, or if you even suspect that they have fleas, please please do not board them with us. For the safety of our own pup Teddy, as well as others who board with us, we cannot have fleas in our household. If you have questions about our flea policy (what we do if we find a flea on a pet in our care) - please inquire prior to booking. -- High anxiety. We know that all dogs will be a little anxious, especially at first, when their mom/dad leaves them. However, we unfortunately cannot accept dogs with high separation or other types of anxiety. -- Excessive barkers. Since my husband works from home, dogs that bark a lot will be detrimental to him keeping his job. =) - Not housetrained. We expect every dog to have the occasional accident – especially in the beginning of their stay. And we do take tons of walks. But excessive peeing or pooping in the house – that’s something we unfortunately aren’t able to manage. - Destructive to furniture, eating kid's toys, chewing on cords, shoes/slippers, that type of stuff. We try to keep things off of the floor and out of reach of the dogs, but if your pup is a stuff chewer, for the safety of your pup, our house won't be a good fit. - Escape artists. We are careful about not leaving the door open long enough for our guest dogs to run out. But we do have kids who sometimes aren't as careful (or quick on the door closing) as they would need to be if your dog likes to bolt out of the door when it is opened. - Stealing food off of counters or tables. We try to keep food off of surfaces but realistically this is not always possible (kids!). - Garbage/recycle bin prowler. If this describes your doggie, as much as we would love to host them, we will sadly not be a good fit. Housekeeping Info: - Daily drop off and pick up times: 9am to 8pm. - Weight max: 20 lbs. We love all of the pups, but Teddy gets along better with smaller dogs. =)
Reviews
Laura was recommended to us by a good friend of mine and I was not disappointed. Laura was and good at communicating with us and letting us know how our little guy was doing. Pictures were sent daily. Remi came home looking healthy just like when we left him. I'd recommend Laura to anyone looking for a dogsitter.
This was my first time leaving my dog, Max, for a long vacation! Laura and her family took very good care of Max. They asked very good questions during the meet and greet showing the care and into details. Although Max was crate trained, he had 1 accident in the crate and got a bath and a brush. Max definitely received a 5-star service! Thanks so much, Laura!
We couldn't be happier with ours and Lizzie's experience with Laura. We look forward to more bookings with Laura, Dennis and their family, AND their sweet dog, Teddy, in the future!
Laura and her family are amazing with dogs. Sam has stayed with them very recently for a whole month and he was very happy there. He loved his stay and found his best friend in Laura’s dog Teddy. Daily updates and photo/videos were super fun. I was very relaxed on my vacation knowing that Sam will be well taken care of. Laura is the best, highly recommend her.

Information Laura N. would like to know about your pet
Housekeeping Info: - Daily drop off and pick up times: 9am to 8pm. - Weight max: 20 lbs. We love all of the pups, but Teddy gets along better with smaller dogs. =) To provide the best care, I would like to know what might cause discomfort or anxiety for your pet? How are they on leash for walks? What kinds of touch does your pet like or not like? Is your pet nervous or aggressive or laid back? Do they get along with other dogs/cats/people or should I be careful about contact with others? Do they have any specific triggers (cats, dogs, squirrels, kids, etc). Do they have a lot of energy that needs to be burned off or are they low energy? Are there medical issues or allergies that I should be aware of? Are there diet restrictions?
A typical day
We tailor our days to what your pup would like to do. From lots of play (for our more active visitors) or cuddles and naps (for our calmer guests), we always try our best to provide an environment that will help your dog feel safe and comfortable. Basically, we try to create a home away from home for your fur friend so that they will feel relaxed and happy. We know we've done our job well when they consider us to be like a second family by the end of their visit!
