Pet lover and graduate student

Pet care experience

I've had multiple types of pets since I was 2 years old. Since then, I've had four dogs of my own that I've cared for and spoiled until their passing. Currently, I have a rescued golden-collie mix with who I've been sharing my life for 5 years. I'm currently in a Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology. I live with my husband and we are a pet living household. Since we moved from Puerto Rico our pets won't arrive until further down the road. I like to recognize every dog's personality and respect their own individual personality's. I've taken care of my pets throughout their lives and have dealt with a plethora of scenarios. These include: parasites, nervous dogs, vomiting, diarrhea, arthritis, fleas and ticks, infections and even acne etc.

Laura, my wife will be an incredible caretaker for your pets. Before I started to date her 8 years ago my relationship with pets was nonexistent. She made it clear that pets are and always will be a part of her life. We got Gaia five years ago and Laura took charge over training her. Gaia wasn't an easy and ideal dog, but we fell in love with her. Gaia was afraid of people and we were students who couldn't afford more than a group class, so Laura decided to train her herself with the abilities she's acquired over years of having pets. Gaia has completely changed, she's amazing and respectful of spaces. I wouldn't doubt for a second that Laura would do the same for any pet, I mean she got the mange after rescuing a puppy on her three week vacation back home

My daughter has loved animals since we got her her first cat and subsequently a dog. She's cared for them responsibly and has shown commitment towards raising healthy animals. When she was in her teens she started rescuing pets off the streets and bringing them to our home where she would use her own money to neuter and vaccinate them, as well as bring them to optimum health to then put them up for adoption. She would make sure the animals were happy with their new families and if not, she would find them another home. Her dedication is such, she once got mange. Now as an independent adult she's become more efficient and loving. She adopted a highly traumatized dog five years ago that with patience and dedication has become an incredible companion to my daughter, her cat siblings and my son in law.

Laura has been my pet sitter for approximately 3 years now. I met her after an unpleasant experience with another pet sitter who had been recommended to me by a friend. Fortunately, I met Laura a few weeks later in direct contrast to my previous experience. She is professional, trustworthy, generous, and most importantly, compassionate and loving to Rocky, my adorable Irish Terrier. I travel a lot in both, my professional and personal life and I always felt calm and secure knowing that Laura was watching Rocky (sometimes we even video chatted or sent me funny videos of Rocky). She is responsible and accommodating. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a loving animal care giver. She's the Best!

Laura is a fellow animal lover and a very responsible and diligent person. She has been very dependable whenever I’ve needed her help, and with her lengthy experience as a pet owner of cats and dogs, I have no doubt that she would be an excellent and loving dog caregiver.
