Columbia, TC Alum: Teacher 👣 ❤️🐩

Pet care experience

I am a 31 year old female and raised in Monmouth County. While I have a deep appreciation and comfortability with people from all locals, religions and walks of life as I have traveled far and wide and lived in many foriegn countries and lived and worked in countless diverse communities, I know the tri state area like the back of my hand. Attended Ranney School and received my BA and two MAs.from Teachers College, Columbia University. I have worked as a Montessori Pre-K teacher, a content director for Sesame.Workshop and now I am a freelance editor for thrive global. Since the day I was born I have been surrounded by pets, my favorite people my dogs. From Shepherds to poodles I love and have had them all. I currently own a 10 year old toy Poodle named Sunday. She is the love of my life and grew up around a myriad or breeds and people and is just happy to make new friends like her Mom. I treat my dog clients like I would my human students - everyone is different, needs , likes, dislikes, interests and one of a kind personality. If choosing to work with me your canine companion's time spent with me will be customised to fit her or her needs and never not once would I shame, punish or withhold a thing as it is my firm belief that acting out is just a sign we need to make a change and that is a team effort between myself and the owner ,so that when we put our heads together we can curate the best experience and time away from mom and dad as possible I live on the beautiful navasink river in a 10,000 square foot house, surrounded by 8 fenced in Acers and inside my home all baby proofed as I an aunt of three and always like to err on the side of caution. I additionally own the farm next door so if your pup came for a vacation with auntie L they would have access to over 20 acres of organically treated open land to run free!!!

Laura is quite possibly the friendliest person in the entire world. I know that is a casually and flattering personality description, but 9 times out of 10 people do not actually mean it. In Laura's case, she is absolutely the exception to the rule. Many moons ago, Laura nominated and won many of the senior superlatives for her high school yearbook, consider these nominations the 18 yr old suburban private school equivalent to getting an Oscar nomination or being listed as a candidate for the Nobel peace prize. All jokes aside, Laura won each female category by a landslide and in typical H-K Fashion, she picked one superlative that meant the most to her and then proceeded to hand out the rest of the titles to her classmates. That anecdote sums up precisely why you will be hitting the jackpot on the best Aunt, godmother, teacher, babysitter, dog sitter and overall "nugget aficionado" you're ever going to find. No matter the situation, the person, animal or the logistics - Laura's ultimate priority, always above her own, is that she does everything in her power to help calm whatever the dilemma of the day is and ultimately to get the person or animal in question that is presumably suffering in someway - is to find a way to get a smile on their faces no matter what lengths she must go to do so. The superlative Laura chose was so perfect, I have a sneaking suspicion they made it up in her honor, " MOST LIKELY TO BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY". She had her pick of nods to her looks, popularity or social status and what Laura was must humbled and honored by was being dubbed the official day brightener. I am admittedly a biased party as she is my girlfriend, but truly as an officer of the court, an older brother, the BIGGEST pet lover and hopefully a future father one day - I would happily testify any day that if you want someone to shower your pet with love, provide them with exciting and uniquely curated experiences, allow them to snuggle into her beloved bed and make sure they feel safe , sound and loved until you are able to come home and tap back in? Look no further than " Miss H". As noted by one of her student's parents via thank you note this summer, Laura has a unique and extremely rare gift through which no matter how far away you may be from your true loved ones, your own bed and everything that makes up what we humans like to call "home", Laura has the capability of immediately putting the most anxious camper at ease with a few words and before they can even begin to miss you, she will have created a second version of "home" for them so they can rest and enjoy their trip to visit Auntie L on her farm and Mom or Dad or cousin Bob can truly relax , enjoy and truly have fun knowing that your loved ones are tucked away safe, enjoying their new home away from home. #LAURA2020 W. Laura is awesome with animals. Sweet, attentive, kind, and responsible. Her own dog follows her around everywhere at home, just wanting to be at her side. So cute. Can’t go wrong with Laura hanging out with your pup..highly recommend.

When your pups come to visit or stay at Easterly Farm the world is their oyster. Our two non negotiable priorities are safety and fun. Every dog is unique and we not only value but celebrate that over here on the farm, so we will happily take the time to get to know your dogs likes and dislikes. We will never force a dog outside of their comfort zone. The following are a few activities that have been a hit with past clients: A good game of tennis ball fetch! Long morning walks with Laura or for the more energetic bunch Laura's boyfriend William has yet to meet a pup he couldn't keep up with , so he is happy to go for a long run to get in cardio for our little canine athletes. Taking a quick dip in the pond on the farm ( for non swimmers fear not the only way to access the pond is by lock and key + a hefty gate) or hunting for fish on the beach along the navasink river which sits behind the main house). Exploring and going on adventures for sticks and pumpkins on our private farm and seasonal homegrown pumpkin patch. Getting cozy and taking naps next to one of our many woodburning fireplaces (all units are properly baby proofed by my extremely protective, precise and pup loving boyfriend).
