Sad to Say Goodbye to Dear Friends

Pet care experience

NEWS:::: While Michael and I are excited for the new adventure that life has in store for us, it is with GREAT SADNESS that we tell our many loyal clients and FRIENDS (as you know you have become friends) that we will be moving to Texas on March 1st. While we had mulled over the idea for several years, it never really seemed much of a possibility until the last couple months. The stars aligned, prayers were answered, and we are now able to be closer to my family, including my 85-yr-old mother, and Michael's family as well. I will miss you all so very much, and just thinking about not being able to cuddle and kiss your precious pups brings tears to my eyes, even now. Please know that you all will be very, very missed and fondly remembered. I have been interviewing other Rover Sitters in an effort to find a few candidates who can provide the loving, clean, and safe home environment that Michael and I tried to provide. I believe I have found some that may work for you. Please text or send me your address and I can give you the list. I wish you all the best, and Michael, Robby and I send our love and sincerest wishes for continued happiness with your families. XOXO LAURA *********************************************************************************************We have the perfect home and family to watch over your precious pup (30 lbs and under) while you are on vacation or away from home. I am a happily married STAY-AT-HOME mom and stepmom of three wonderful adults, the youngest of which is 24. I am a retired landscape architect, but mostly I spend my days quietly at home with our 3 pets. My best buddy and constant companion is Robby, a 14-year-old "Powderpap", a Papillon/Powderpuff Chinese Crested mix; Tigger is our sweet 15-year-old tabby cat; and Misty is our 16 y.o. fat cat who loves any attention. (The cats hang out in the back yard and make themselves scarce when we have doggie visitors.) We have a lot of fun, but it's quite relaxed around here. There is plenty of time for cuddles on the couch and just hanging out together. We have a nice fenced-in grassy backyard with plenty of room for running around, so everyone can get some excercise. An electronic doggie door allows all pets easy access for potty breaks or quick trips outside when the urge hits to lie in the sun. Our neighborhood has plenty of places to go for walks, if desired. About Laura: I have time and love to give your special pet! I am home full time, but previously I was a landscape architect in San Diego for 20 years. I took medical early retirement several years ago, and now that the kids are grown I stay close to home with Robby, my "best dog-friend". I am an experienced pet sitter and long-time pet owner, and I know how difficult it can be to leave your pet behind when you travel. We wanted to offer the same kind of loving, focused care that we desired for our own dog when we went on vacation, so we joined Rover. We would love to share our laid-back, relaxed and happy home with your furry family member. Please give me a call the next time you make vacation/travel plans; we would be happy to have your precious pet come stay with us. Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs all my life, having gotten my first dog Quiet in the second grade. Our dogs and cats have been such an important part of our married life as well - I can't imagine our family without them. Meet my pets 14-yr-old Papillon/Chinese Crested Powderpuff dog; 15-yr-old tabbycat; and 16-yr-old American shorthair cat. (They keep to themselves and do not bother any pet guests.) My experience administering medication One of my regular visitors receives daily medication (in pill form). I would prefer not to administer injections, unless you were comfortable educating me. I am a fast learner.

We have since moved from Burbank, but my dog Maggie loved staying with Laura. She was happy when she jumped out of the car and couldn’t wait to start her “puppy vacation”. Thank you for taking good care of Maggie. Carol Konwin

Dudley made a new friend and I couldn't be more pleased ? From our first meet-and-greet to picking him up after 7 days of vacationing with Laura, the entire home away from home experience was great.

Information Laura G. would like to know about your pet

We'd like to know everything and anything! The more we know, the more comfortable we can make your pet. I have a handout of example questions I can give you at a Meet&Greet if you'd like. I love all breeds, but I prefer to only care for small-to-medium sized dogs at this time (30 pounds and under, please). Also, I don't accept puppies (one year old or less) as they exasperate our "old man" Robby, and he is so great with all of the other adult dogs who have stayed with us that it seems only fair to set this limit on his behalf. Also, PLEASE NOTE that our home life is quite relaxed and easy-going. If your dog is on the more active side or needs a lot of mental/physical stimulation, perhaps he/she might be better suited for a caretaker with more pets at home or one who accepts more visitors. Our only other hard-and-fast rule is that your dog must actively be using some sort of flea and tick preventative, and that he/she be relatively clean. (I can give your pup a bath if you'd like, for a very small additional charge.) Please don't hesitate to ask! Nobody likes babysitting/sleeping with a stinky puppy! ;)

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Small and medium dogs get quite a bit of exercise in our back yard, but our neighborhood is very suitable for daily walks. In fact, our Robby really loves to take a walk. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog can sleep pretty much wherever he or she wants to, or wherever you wish him/her to. Most dogs who visit seem to want to sleep in bed with me, and that's perfectly fine (if they are relatively clean, lol)! Feel free to bring a crate, if that's where your dog sleeps. We have several dog beds, and everyone shares so sometimes the animals will spend half the night in the human bed and half in a pet bed. NOTE: If your dog doesn't get on well with cats, don't worry as our two will likely make themselves scarce. Time I'll spend with your dog I will be available around the clock. Your dog will be my primary focus. If your dog can be left for a short period with no ill effects (such as for running a quick errand) then that may be a possibility. If they have permission to take a car ride, then perhaps they can accompany me if I am going somewhere with a drive-thru.
