Pet care experience
Hi I’m Laura! I’ve been around and worked with animals my entire life. I helped my mum relentlessly with our pet dogs, rabbits, and guinea pigs when I was younger, and once older my horse, Alfie, became my main job. I’ve spent much of my life learning and developing a passion for animal care. I’m currently a university student with my dog, Mabel, a Labrador who I got at 8 weeks old (Now 2 & 1/2) and that I have sole responsibility for and trained to be the well mannered and all-loving pup I have today! My varied past means I have some experience handling various medications for animals.

Laura did an amazing job looking after my 2 cats whilst I was away. They are both quite old now so they don’t need a lot of activity or play but Laura was more than happy to keep them company and make sure they were happy and comfortable. I felt they were very safe and in good hands the whole time. I returned home to two very happy and relaxed cats!
Laura looked after my Collie Cross, Lilo, for a week and she was amazing! Lilo is just over a year old and as a Collie can be quite intense - needing lots of exercise and mental stimulation. But Laura was able to not only take great care of Lilo but also ware her out on many occasions which I was very shocked by as that’s no small feat. Definitely going to be asking Laura to look after Lilo again in the future.

I will care for your pets in your home however you would like, prior to booking I will ask you some questions to get to know you, your pet, and how I can assist with their routine. I have toys and training equipment available if needed, and am happy to carve our dedicated exercise and stimulation time. additionally, if your dog would love to have company and socialisation, I have a very friendly and sociable Labrador who loves to make friends!

I would love to know about any special requirements for your dog, such as allergies, medication, extra exercise, favourite types of toys and treats, etc., so I can make sure sure they have a great time. I hand-make different frozen treats for my pets, so please let me know of any allergies to: Greek yogurt, strawberry, banana, mint, cucumber, and apple. I don’t have any formal training, such as dog CPR and administering intravenous medication, however I have much experience so I am familiar with procedures necessary. If you would like my service but have worries about special requirements of your pet, I am very willing to be taught by you and learn how to do things to help.
A typical day
I ensure all dogs are well exercised and stimulated - I live by the phrase ‘a tired dog is a happy dog’ - so they are as comfortable and happy in my environment as possible. I have heaps of toys, both play and stimulating, so make sure they never get bored.

I am currently a final year university student after returning to Lincoln from my industrial placement year. Most of my week consists of independent study which means I have a every flexible schedule during my available hours.
