I have a fenced back yard. I currently have one senior dog who does not really have a care in the world except to eat and sleep. He is quite spoiled rotten and gets along so well with other dogs. I don't crate any pets unless it is something you prefer. If your pet is prone to accidentally relieving themselves in the house, not to worry as I have tile and wood floor that can easily be cleaned. I do cover my furniture when I have Fur Guests over so that they can sleep on sofa if they wish. Your fur baby will be in loving hands. I am happy to send pics/videos and updates as needed.
