Pet care experience
For in-home boarding within my home, I will love your pet like no other, and they will feel at home and like a true member of our family, they'll have a blast! Your dog will even be allowed on furniture and get to sleep on the bed with us, he/she will be treated like royalty! We are not your typical boarding experience, that is for sure. You will not find someone who loves animals more than I do. I grew up at the Duluth Zoo as my dad is a retired zookeeper and so I've been feeding/caring for/raising animals of every breed since I can remember. I have had cats and dogs my entire life and I wouldn't want to live any other way! I am a volunteer/board member at the Lake County Humane Society in which I help care for and find homes for the homeless cats and dogs of Lake County. I love animals more than 99% of the population and couldn't even imagine my life without them. I am a crazy cat lady, so I'm excited to take care of not just dogs, but cats too! I can clean litter boxes, feed/water, and play with them. I can assure you that they will get excited to see me walk in the door! I cannot wait to hear from you, and play with and care for your pets. Laura is an amazing pet sitter! She has a special way with animals, and they just adore her. Even our shy cat comes out to play when she visits. I know our fur kids are in excellent hands when Laura is taking care of them.

Laura is incredible! My cat is extremely shy and wary of strangers and I was worried about leaving him alone with just a daily 30 minute check in, but she made sure he was taken care of and all of his food and amenities were replenished. More than that though, is that she got Spritz to come out of his shell and after the first day. I got multiple photos of him out and playing with her every day. Laura taking care of Spritz gave me such peace of mind while on a long trip - I’ll definitely be booking with her again for future trips. She is seriously such a wonderful caretaker and has a true gift with emotionally difficult pets like my shy, sensitive Spritz.

Dog Boarding rules and requirements: I welcome any dog that is friendly, non-aggressive, and good with other dogs. I want to make your dog a member of our family and want your dog to feel at home with my children, dogs, and cats. **Your dog MUST like cats and other dogs. **Dog MUST be fully house and potty trained. **Dog must be crate trained. **Your dog MUST be up to date on rabies, distemper, and bordetella, free of fleas and ticks, and proof of current vaccinations will be required to be emailed prior to drop off. **Bring enough of your pet's food to last their entire stay, along with their kennel, bed, toys, and collar and leash. **Drop off is after 4:00 pm on the day of drop off. **Pick up is before 4:00 pm on the day of pick up. **Dog pick up and drop off is also available. I will personally pick up and/or drop off your dog and their supplies when they are booked for dog boarding. Your pick up or drop off location must be located within 10 miles of Two Harbors, MN city limits. This convenient service is available at the rate of $25, which includes both the pick up and drop off, and will be added on to the total cost of your dog's stay.
A typical day
We will go on walks, play outside, throw balls and frisbees, play tug, set up our puppy pool during the summer months so your pup can play in the water with our chocolate lab, Brownie! Your dog will have a blast playing with my puppies. I am a cat lover and would love to visit your home and spoil your kitty with scratches! My husband is a true dog whisperer and so your dog will get more pets during their visit than he or she could even imagine. Dogs are welcome on our furniture and can even sleep on the bed with us at night! We can even go for car rides and go swimming in one of the many local lakes and rivers!
