Taking a short break in september
Pet care experience
Hey there! I am proud to say I am now FULLY VACCINATED against covid19!! Yaay!!! I have been very, very busy in August, so I will be taking some time off in september to rest and possibly clean my own house! Lol! --- Hope you guys are doing ok in this heat! Remember that dogs and cats cannot sweat, and so they need access to clean, cool water or other ways to cool down. You can dampen a towel and place it on the floor for pets to lay on, or wrap them in a damp towel. Try wrapping a freezer pack in a towel and placing it near your pet. Some dogs love to play with ice cubes! -- Hey there, I'm an at-home photographer / illustrator and this haircut makes me look like I'm twelve. I'm mostly just looking for fun and companionship with some nice dogs, and to get myself away from my laptop for a few hours. :) I've got a very flexible schedule, and am happy to walk or run with most sizes and breeds. (I'm pretty slim at about 120lbs, so maybe no dogs larger than me) The largest dog I've ever walked was a 1-year-old Great Dane and hooboy, that was a fun time! Let me know what kind of attention your dog needs, as I can offer a range of valuable services from "Please take my arthritic chihuahua down the driveway" to "Please exhaust my greyhound so he sleeps tonight" I've had dogs all of my childhood and teen years, and am familiar with all the basics, including walking, feeding, toweling dirty paws, bathing, brushing and administering medication if needed. Expert at reaching into a dog's mouth and pulling out roadside goodies before they get swallowed. Can follow special care instructions for sick or elderly dogs, just let me know! I am also comfortable with other pets such as cats, fish, guinea pigs, etc. Ask me about pet portraits! I love photographing dogs and giving owners a nice keepsake. My schedule is fairly flexible, and I am happy to do short notice or planned vacations :) I am looking into being available for wedding or event attending for pets. Would you like your dog to be a part of your special ceremony? I can take care of feeding and bathroom breaks, so your pet can just enjoy the party with you.
Reviews
Laura was super flexible when my company’s flight was delayed 12 hours. She happily made herself available to accommodate our schedule. I’m so appreciative. I’d hire her again anytime. Thanks Laura!
Laura is great, my pets adore her and she takes great care to update me. She follows all the instructions and I would highly recommend her.
Laura did a wonderful job. She is a true animal lover and was great at responding whenever I needed. The cats enjoyed her visits and they were well taken care of!
I was so impressed with Laura! I felt comfortable with her right off the bat. She is so knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviour. My dogs didn't even miss me. My oldest dog Loki, has been having such anxiety when we go anywhere and that's why I wanted him to be able to stay home. When I came home he was perfectly chill! I highly recommend Laura!

No breed preferences, but no dogs larger than me for walks. Sitting is fine for any size. Please let me know if your dog is a young puppy / elderly / any special needs like deaf / blind / arthritis or meds. I love all breeds, including so-called "aggressive" breeds like pitbulls, german shepherds, or dobermans. (A mislabel if there ever was one!) I have experience working with anxious and unsure dogs, and rescue dogs with trust issues and separation anxiety, helping them feel safe and happy with new people. I am happy to follow any training routines you have with your dog to keep communication clear and consistent. (Sit, stay, come, heel, place) I'm familiar with hand signals, verbal commands and treats, and I will -never- use negative reinforcement. I am familiar with advanced seniors and end-of-life care. I have had family dogs pass on from old age and am familiar with some geriatric conditions such as diabetes, arthritis and canine cancer. I will do my absolute best to make your dog comfortable and relaxed when you can't be around 24/7.
A typical day
I've got a great arm with the Chuck-It, if your pooch is a runner. If not, we can just mosey the neighborhood on a leash for a nice jog. Depending on how social your dog is, we can go to dog parks or just stay one-on-one. I have recently increased my rates, as I prefer taking dogs out for longer, more dedicated walks, than trying to have more clients in a day. All of my walks are well over the half-hour time limit set by Rover from the moment we leave the doorstep to the time we return. I do not include leashing or cleanup time in my rover card walks. Your dog will get proper exercise and fresh air rather than a quick swing around the block.
