Welcome to Petite Pooch Paradise!

Pet care experience

Hi! I am a small dog owner (Donatella the Havashire & Zeus the Shih-Poo) and lover. I was born to small dog loving parents (Benji the Terrier Mix, Shaboo the Chihuahua Mix & Quewie the Min-Pin), grandparents (Frenchie the poodle & Emma the Jack Russell) and even great-grandparents (Jojo the Cairn Terrier). Caring for my own, my families' and my friends' small to medium dogs has always given me lots of joy and I have the space to ensure they're happy and healthy while away from their parents. I've been boarding small dogs for 10 years now—more than 600 clients—with zero bites, fights, injuries, incidents or deaths. I am patient, kind, persistent, knowledgeable and generally great with dogs. Seniors and puppies are welcome. I'd love to have you over for a meet & greet to check out my home and yard. -------------- Please see the notes below that may help you decide if I am a good choice for your pup. -Boarding services are currently limited to dogs who are 25-lbs and under at maturity. -To ensure I am attentive and alert, I have a maximum boarding limit of (4) pups per night. While this may seem like a lot, my small dog requirement, training skills, and spacious home makes this quite easy. My clients learn to socialize confidently, play kindly, engage respectfully and "exist among their own" with ease. All clients are usually crated during breakfast and dinner, to avoid triggering conflict over resource-guarding and "sampling" of food that is not their own. -Dog safety is top priority, period. In the event that I come into possession of a client who I find to be a threat to other clients, I will cancel incoming clients instead of locking the problematic client away. I've had to do this about 7 times in the past 10 years. It is always disappointing, but it's important to operate with integrity. -I ask that you ensure your dog is generally clean in preparation for his or her stay. He or she does not need to be freshly groomed! However, the dog should not leave behind a strong stench after sitting on a couch throw for a few minutes. Most small dogs who are regularly bathed in 4-6 week intervals smell perfectly fine, so don't worry too much! -Sending at least 1-2 days of extra food is highly recommended. Travel plans can be delayed due to train, plane, boat, or car issues. I am always happy to provide food, but I don't want to cause the digestive upset associated with abrupt diet changes. I send back ALL unused food. -Please let me know if your pup is used to table food. I'll never feed him or her table food, but if he or she is used to it, I'll make sure to enjoy my own meals in private to prevent begging or straying from training. -I try to ensure that un-neutered males are never the majority. For example, I have a spayed female. I'd be happy to accept two un-neutered males and one un-spayed female into my home, but I wouldn't board three un-neutered males with my one spayed female. In addition to making sure my pooch is comfy in her own home, this helps to avoid social posturing, conflict and excessive "marking." --------------

Lasia was great! She was very communicative, which I appreciate. She’s clearly an animal lover with knowledge of how to care for and support them. Cooper shows anxiety and nervousness. He marked in her house within 38 seconds of being there, and she didn’t get upset. I was very grateful for that response. I offered to clean up, and she was like, “it’s normal”. I’d use her again, but we seem to be missing each other when I reach out.

Lasia took good care of Cecilia for quite a long stay, and updated us constantly. She has a very nice place, both indoor and outdoor, with some other small dogs and my dog seemed very happy to be there. Thanks!

Lasia watched my puppy as I was out for a business trip. She sent daily photos and/or videos and also started to train him as well. Overall great experience and will be coming back!

Lasia took great care of my Kuma. He really enjoyed his time with Cecelia and Donatella, so much that I think he’s bored now that he’s back home. Lol i hope to rebook when I take my next trip. Much thanks !

Safety, trust & environment

I own a split-level, 4-bd, 2-bath home (with a finished basement that includes a kitchen, dining area and two extra rooms) that includes a secure, fenced-in backyard and a 22-lb spayed, female Snorkie to show pets around. Dogs have free run of the lower level during the day. I let them out into the backyard 4-6 times per day for 20 minutes at a time (depending on the weather of course). Although my backyard is fully fenced, I do not allow them into the backyard without supervision and I do not have a doggy-door. They are permitted on all furniture. For their own safety, security and peace of mind, they are usually crated at night in a large, comfy crate right near me, with access to fresh water. I currently have a maximum capacity of (5) clients in my home at any one time. They are walked in pairs for 20 minutes at a time. None of my guests have EVER had any bites or injuries from other guests, or suffered sickness or emergencies while in my care. None have ever escaped from my home or yard or gotten off their leash during a walk. Questions? Please reach out to schedule a call. I aim to communicate quickly, clearly and kindly.

Information Lasia B. would like to know about your pet

I'll need a general idea of your dog's personality. What are your pet's energy needs? Are they abnormally shy, anxious or aggressive? What is their feeding schedule? Do they have any trauma that I'll need to accommodate? Any medications I'll need to administer? Are they used to the company of other small dogs?

A typical day

My home includes plenty of toys, lots of (safe) space for sniffing & exploring and a backyard for lots of digging, silly play, ripping & running. The dogs will receive at least two 20-30 minute walks per day in the neighborhood, with an average of three walks (morning, lunch and evening) as long as weather permits. In very hot or very cold weather, the walk may be shortened to ensure the dog's comfort and safety. I feed breakfast between 7-8a and dinner between 5-6p. Dogs are let out into the yard for a final potty break around 8:30-9p. We go to bed around 10p.

Availability

I work remotely, therefore I am home 24/7 (with natural exceptions of course: errands, dinner with friends, etc.) to care for pets. I generally wake up early (6a) to exercise at a gym that is 10 minutes away (these pandemic pounds must go!). Upon returning home around 7a, I shower and walk the dog(s), then feed her/them breakfast after their morning walk. I login to work at 8a and take breaks as needed to eat, walk the dog(s) or play with her/them in the backyard, etc. I log-off around 5p, walk & feed the dogs around 6p, have dinner, read, watch TV, or do whatever is on the schedule. I am typically in bed by 10p, unless I have a late drop-off or pick-up. --------------
