Certified Caregiver, Last Minute OK

Pet care experience

Update - Just moved back to New Jersey after spending a few years in Delaware so my husband could finish up getting his second Masters Degree. Now we are back in NJ permanently as we just bought the home in the new photos posted!! We are excited to start dog sitting and developing new relationships with the fur babies in our local area! I am an animal lover on every level and really take the time to make sure your dog/cat will have a comfortable and relaxed experience either in my home or while in their own home under my care. In addition to my certifications, I am a volunteer at a local animal shelter as a certified dog walker of all the breeds in the shelter. I will make sure and provide extra attention and care to make sure your pooch feels at home. I am diligent in providing food at requested times and amounts directed. I take my job very seriously of providing your family the ease of mind that your animal is in good hands and want you to know I truly have your animals well being as a top priority while in my care. Thanks for considering my services and hope to meet you and your four legged family member soon! About this sitter: I am a military spouse who spends her days and nights caring for animals, others and my own. I have been a foster mom to over a 30 dogs and cats over the past couple years, all being placed successfully into adoptive homes. I have received my license in dog/cat grooming and am a certified dog walker with the local animal shelter. I am qualified to walk and care for any breed and have probably looked after just about half the dog breeds known to man. I love what I do and take my job of watching your animal very seriously. I would love an opportunity to meet you and your pooch and welcome him/her to my extended family. :) I have been a foster mom to over 30 dogs/cats, licensed groomer, experience handling shelter animals, worked with animals for over 10 years. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover since as far back as I can remember. Animals have always held a special place in my heart. Meet my pets We currently have one pup of our own, Lily, who we think is a Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. She is a ball of fun and will bark when she is not getting attention to say "hey!! Im here too!! Love on me!" haha.. she is such a character... when we dog sit in our home she is the house mascot. She will bark at first, but she is just a talker... the photos I will send within an hour will be of Lily playing with your pup. Lily has been great with every single dog we have ever watched, even the ones that aren't super friendly... Lily is the best dog to while in this business as she can read another dogs personality immediately and will only be as hyper as the other dog wants to be. Its always been a great melody with her with us. :) About my yard I do have a rather large, fully fenced in rear yard. The fence is 4-5 ft. high, so I would need to be made aware if your dog is a jumper as I know certain breeds would have no problem clearing a fence that is shorter than 6 ft. That wouldn't be a problem, as we would just go to the dog park in my community (only if it is empty) to let him/her have free play if I were to have your dog for more than two days. Obviously there would be daily walks, but I still think they need that time to run after the ball and just get out some energy! My experience administering medication Yes, I am familiar with administering medication as long as I am given all details on temperament I have no problem with providing this service.

The best sitter and will take my puppy back to her. She when out of her time to take care of puppy and took him to the vet while I was on vacation. My puppy had the best care. The sitter is very nice person. Will recommend to other people. I give her 100% and me and kids really appreciated her time for taking care of our puppy.

Ericka was absolutely awesome! She took care of our animals as if they were her own. My mind was at ease the entire time that we were gone because of her!

Information Larry & Ericka S. would like to know about your pet

Does your fur baby have any food or toy aggression that i should be aware of? I would love to know how your dog is with children and other animals. I can accommodate dogs with more complex personalities, just advance notice needs to be given so the appropriate actions are taken to make sure the experience is a good one for your dog and my family. Also, is your dog sensitive to touch somewhere specific? For example if your dog hates his ears being touched and might get a little nippy if you try and touch them, things like that are very helpful to know going into a new client relationship as it helps the dog to build more trust with me if i dont do things that it prefers people dont. To know any fears your pup has prior to sitting for them is great as well, such as fear of thunderstorms for example.

A typical day

The neighborhood we live in is very safe and family friendly. We are very new to the area, but are excited to walk the neighborhood with our new clients to see what the community has to see. We have tons of dog toys for your pups to play with. During the warm months we have an awesome inground pool for the fur babies to play in if they like. There is a more shallow area and a deeper area. Obviously the dogs would never be let outside without supervision just as a safety precaution. We dont allow our own pup to go outside alone, so i certainly would apply the same to any clients in my home. If home sitting, your pets will have me in the home just as if their human counterparts are present. I want to keep all pets as stress free as possible. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will sleep wherever he/she feels most comfortable. If your dog is not a chewer than I have no problem with your dog sleeping on our family room couch, in a crate if you provide one and they are comfortable sleeping there, in a dog bed that we have laying around, etc... Im very open to the dogs making my home, like their home. Depending on the dog and situation, there has been more clients that end up sleeping in the master bedroom with myself. I want them to feel safe and secure, so whatever that looks like for them, i am typically happy to adjust to their needs. Time I'll spend with your dog As much time as I spend with my own dog, which is typically all day/night. I do not have an out of the home job, so this is what I spend my time and efforts on each and every day. Your doggie is my 9-5, plus overtime! :) Time I'll spend with your dog All day. I don't work outside the home, so my whole day is spent catering to your pooch, which is not normal for the average dog sitter who just does this type of work around their other full or part time jobs. If I am not letting your dogs out or playing with them I am laying down as I have back problems, but I am still able to get around a house and spend time with your animals. Extra house-sitting services Watering Plants Bringing in the mail Turning lights on and off so it appears as someone is home Signing for packages waiting on deliveries or service appointments cleaning up dishes, etc.
