I am a freelance photographer and web programmer working from my home. I have always had an attraction to and respect for animals and in particular dogs. When your dog stays over, they can get the same daily activity my dog gets, if they need it. Walks, woodland hikes. Even bike runs for high energy breeds. I also work on basic skills, such as: walking properly, politely waiting to be release for meals, coming when called. Other than normal errands, I would only leaving the dogs alone for only 2-3 hours at a time to cover the high school sports that I cover for photo/video. The normal routine is to be fed when we get up, lay in the sun, play out back/ learn the rules, rest, play, rest, play (ha ha). Weather permitting, I leave the back door open. A good hour's walk in late afternoon is followed by dinner. In the evening they can play or lay around while I process images and videos. I usually take all dogs upstairs for bedtime. While I do not encourage any to get on the bed, it happens. Kennels may be used for 'time outs' and to make sure everyone gets a break, but my first intent is for all to participate in all activities. I am an advocate for the beliefs and methods of Cesar Millan "the Dog Whisperer", based on, first: exercise, second: discipline and third: affection. Your dog will have fun. My dog, "Sled", is a 5yo Plott hound mix. He really make hosting possible because of his manners, patients and balance. He also shows me how to act with each guest. Having a dog and hosting others keeps me balanced. I get more exercise and Sled gets to socialize. My house has a medium-sized, fenced-in, suburban yard in a very safe neighborhood.
