I'm a stay at home mom who has loved animals since before I can remember. I now four kids ages 6 to 13 and we live in a small family farm in the country. We have one dog of our own, a 3 year old female collie. We all love dogs and enjoy having them come stay with us! We are an easy going family who spend a lot of time at home. We can provide a safe, relaxed place for your elderly pup to stay and be loved while you are away! I have been doing dog sitting in addition to being a mom for 10 years. I have experience and am comfortable administering medicine, including oral and injectable. My farm is right off the main road but I have a completely fenced in play yard for the dogs. Because I have farm animals and little kids I do NOT take high energy dogs, escape artists, or skittish dogs. I prefer to take dogs that are at least 7 years old. I may make exceptions for younger dogs that are very mellow. Dogs that do well here are laid back and enjoy hanging out with the family. I encourage you to bring your dog over for a visit to see if we are a good fit for each other!

Larisa was great! Communicated well in advance and during stay, along with provided us pics to let us know how our two dogs were doing. One of our dogs is elderly and the other was in heat during stay and she kept them both safe and tended to them well which we appreciated. Thank you, Larisa.

Dogs need to be good with kids and other dogs and at least 7 years old. Familiarity with cats is also nice though not required. I also like to see that dogs have good recall (will come consistently when called). I can't take dogs with high prey drives that would compel then to dig under fences or otherwise fixate trying to get at my farm animals. I also do not take high energy dogs since I don't have the means to give exercise above playing in the yard.
A typical day
We like to hang around the house, play fetch in the yard, and give belly rubs.
