Pet care experience
I've always loved dogs but haven't been able to have one for many years due to my travel schedule; in this way, other people's pets have become my own. I’m extremely active and love taking long walks, ideally with a canine companion; when I house sit, my yoga mat usually ends up covered with pet hair because animals seem to love joining my yoga practice! I work from home so am usually around. In 2014, I left my ten-year career in communications and project management to travel while writing and teaching yoga. While the first part of my new career involved a lot of international travel, I have recently started house- and pet-sitting, so dog care and walking became a natural next step. I will treat your beloved pets with the love and care that you would give them yourself. Most of all, I am fun, nurturing and caring and will make sure that your pets have a good time—whether that’s cuddling, walking or playing!

Lacey is awesome! I first met her through a family member who partcipated in a medical outreach trip with her to Guatemala. I was trying to figure out what do with my furry family while I went away on business, and was considering boarding them as I'd had a bad experience with an in-home petsitter. However, Lacey came highly recommended, and now I know why. She's stayed with my 2 dogs a few times now, and has shown herself to be both responsible and loving. My guys love her. On one trip, my youngest got his leg caught in a fence, and Lacey made sure he received the proper medical attention. Though I wanted to be home, I knew he was in good hands with her, and when I finally did make it back, he was up and running around, good as new. I can't recommend her enough!!
My poodle Pelusa and I shared a house with Lacey for 6 months. Lacey was a fabulous aunty to Pelusa and we would happily share again with her if we get the opportunity in the future. In fact I would be thrilled to have Lacey house sit my place and puppy as she's a responsible and proactive person, who immediately sorted out issues as they arose. She loves animals and treats them with the respect they deserve. She's firm with them (ie - I never saw her give in to some awesomely cute dinner table begging - so she wont break your doggie rules), but many a time I came home to Lacey and Pelusa snuggling on the coach, and Pelusa dearly loved Lacey. I don't travel without Pelusa as she has the typical poodle's owner fixation trait, however if I had to, I would without hesitation leave her in Lacey's loving and capable hands.
Lacey rented a room from me in Bogotá, Colombia from December 2012 until she left Colombia in May 2014. During that time, we became good friends and remain in contact. As a tenant, Lacey was considerate, tidy, and reliable--always paying the rent on time and cleaning up after herself. Lacey was also good at caring for my pets and plants when I was away.
