I've owned large and small breed dogs in the past, have worked at a cat shelter, and currently own two cats, one of which is special needs. I have a lot of experience taking care of a variety of dogs and cats with ranging sizes, temperaments, and needs. Friends have always been able to rely on me to take care wonderful care of their pets while they're away from home for extended periods of time. I work from home in the clinical research field and have great flexibility in my work schedule to accommodate visits or in-home stays. I'm happy to discuss daily frequency and number of checks ins that would best suit your pet's needs. Having worked in a cat shelter and with two cats of my own, I'm very good at understanding what an individual cat needs. I like to cater my cat check-ins to the individual cat. If my presence seems to stress them out I can quickly feed, refresh water and check litter box. If they seem like they'd like attention I'm happy to spend as much time as they'd like playing and/or snuggling. I currently own two cats, one of whom is senior special needs cat who requires a low stress environment. While I absolutely love dogs and would love to have one again, adding a dog into our household doesn't seem fair to either her or the pooch. I love petsitting because it lets me love on dogs at a time when it's not feasible for me to have one myself.
