Your pets are my priority!

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Kymmi, and I'm an attorney in the DFW area. I currently run my own pet sitting business on the side, but I am looking to expand through Rover. I've always loved animals, especially dogs and would love to take care of your fur-babies while you're away. For now, I have two dogs and they are the most special part of my life, so I understand how stressful it can be to ensure that your pets are taken care of while you are out of town. I only offer my services at clients' homes as I strongly believe that it is in the best interests of most pets to stay in an environment in which they are comfortable while their owners are away. I have run my own pet sitting business off and on for the last 10 years. My clients are primarily in Coppell, but I am willing to travel to certain parts of Lewisville, Carrollton, Irving and Grapevine. Contact me to schedule an appointment for your next out of town trip! *****About Booking Fees***** Sometimes it's not super clear when I'm setting my fees through Rover how they will look on your end. If a fee seems unreasonably high (this usually happens when there is more than one dog), just let me know, and I can always adjust it on my end. *****Why I love Dog Sitting***** I have loved dogs since...well, as long as I can remember. I love all animals, but I have a special place in my heart for dogs because I feel that they can understand us in a way that most other animals can't. The dogs I've had throughout my life have truly been my very best friends. They are unconcerned with our flaws and love us unconditionally, and who doesn't want a little unconditional love? :) *****A Note About Medication***** I am comfortable administering medication to the degree your dog is comfortable with me administering medication. What the heck does that mean, you might ask. I understand that some animals do not enjoy taking medication, so if you tell me how you usually do it, I will try to do it the same way to make the process easier for your pet. Depending on the trust level of your animal, I can give oral medication that your pet does not seem to want to swallow on his own, but if he becomes scared and tries to bite, I won't continue. I suggest asking your vet whether or not it is ok to crush any pills to try and hide them in a treat. This is usually the easiest way to administer oral medication, but some medicines are not supposed to be crushed before ingestion. Just let me know, and we can figure something out.

Kymmi was a great sitter for our cat and two toy dogs. She was very responsive when I checked in during our trip and the pets were very relaxed when we returned. We will be hiring Kymmi again soon!

This is the third time Kymmi has sat with Lucy and once again I came home to a very happy dog, it's makes leaving her just a bit easier knowing she is being well cared for.

Kymmi sat with my spoiled dog Lucy for a week, Lucy was happy and well taken care of, Kymmi has such a great attitude you can tell she really loves animals. This was my first time using a sitter and I would definitely use her again. I could really enjoy my trip knowing Lucy was in such good hands.

Returned home to three happy dogs! She also took out the trash and brought in the mail/paper and did general house sitting things. The dogs were happy as can be and she sent updates throughout the week to hope ease our worries about being away. No complaints.

Information Kymmi G. would like to know about your pet

When sitting for new dogs, there are a few questions that I like to ask of every owner: 1. Does your dog have any sensitivities or triggers I should know about? I dog sit for one client who has a border collie that is terrified of tissues. How his phobia came about, I can't even imagine, but the last thing I want to do is freak your pets out, so I welcome any information that can help me build their trust. 2. How does your dog get along with other animals? If s/he is anti-social, that's perfectly ok. I can deal with that, but would like to be prepared if s/he does not do well around other animals. 3. What is your dog's normal routine? Obviously s/he will be a little thrown off when you leave town, so I would like to keep his/her schedule as normal as possible to reduce anxiety.

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog I offer day visits and overnight visits. Day visits consist of two one-hour visits per day. Each visit consists of a walk, feeding/watering, play time and cuddle time. Overnight visits consist of the same thing, just more of it. Extra house-sitting services I offer several additional "chores" at no cost. These include: dog walking, moderate watering of potted plants, checking the mail and bringing in newspapers and packages, adding water to the pool if levels get too low, freezing treats, and training reinforcement. I offer several additional "chores" at an additional cost. These include: bathing and brushing of pets, light laundry, yard/shrub/tree watering, light house cleaning. Contact me for rates.
