Pet care experience
(Edit: obviously summer vacation is over but I decided I wanted to work with dogs all year long! Can you blame me?!) The only stressful part of going on vacation is finding a dependable person to take care your pets…. well, I’m here to be that person! I’m a local high school science teacher and have the entire summer off, and I’m looking for a fun hobby *and* a part-time job- and this opportunity checks both boxes! I’ve had dogs and cats all my long life!! My current two are Gus (who looks like a big white lab but after doing a DNA test is apparently more of a Great Pyrenees) and a sweet cat named Shortyhops (one of my sons wanted to name her Shorty, the other wanted to make her Hops, so I had to make a dad decision!) I like to wake up early and I have plenty of time to walk your dog for as long as you want him or her to be walked!

We were in a last minute bind to find an option for my brother's dog after learning that our son had a fairly significant dog allergy and intending to spend the holidays together with family. Kurt was incredible! He was super responsive right off the bat which put my mind at ease, and I am confident their dog had the best weekend of her life! In addition to my large yard, I live across the street from Heritage Park and the Gateway Trail (that leads up into the Poverty Creek trail system) is adjacent to my house.. meaning I’m surrounded by trails to keep your energetic pal happy! Also, I have my 10 year old Gus, who’s relaxed and friendly, to play along with!

I just need to know your feeding schedule and walking schedule. And obviously if they need andy meds. Oh- and where they prefer to sleep at night!
A typical day
I have a nice yard for dogs to romp around and plenty of trails around to walk! And being older than the college kids in town perhaps means I’d be home with your pet more often ?

As I’ve mentioned, during the summer I’m wide open to host your dog or visit your house just about 24/7. Just let me know how much time you’d want me to spend with your pet (so you can feel relaxed on your vacation!) and I’ll be there!
