I have been pet sitting for friends and family for a few years now as a supplement to my efforts to acquire a licensure in social work. I enjoy helping animals as much as I do people, and have experience working with particularly anxious dogs who have histories of abuse from previous owners, a well as medically compromised dogs who need a more supportive environment or require mediation. I have found that professional characteristics necessary to being an effective social worker are similar to that of being a caretaker for pups with traumatic pasts. I also have experience in fostering young dogs before adoption, so I would have absolutely no problem with opening my home to your dog or cat for an extended amount of time!
