PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE I have been pet sitting for the past four years. I enjoy the personal nature of the work and the flexibility the schedule allows. I get paid to play with and care for critters of all kinds. This is the best kind of work. I am an active volunteer for Jacksonville Animal Care and Control's Kitten Army, providing foster care for underage, underweight kittens not yet ready for adoption. I also participate with Jacksonville Humane Society's Foster care program helping with post surgical animals, animals needing socialization, and pets with medical problems needing loving recovering time. In my early twenties I was a veterinary technician for a local vet here in Jacksonville. This was one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable jobs I have ever had. I decided to go back to school and had to leave the practice to accommodate my school schedule. I am trained in giving oral and topical medications to both cats and dogs. I can also administer sub-q injections and fluids. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: I have been sharing my home with pets for over 90% of my life. Even as as child I cannot remember much time where there were not pets in my home. Along with cats and dogs, I have worked with snakes, turtles, chinchillas, rabbits, bearded dragons, sugar gliders, hamsters, gerbils, fresh water aquariums, koi ponds, chickens, goats, and even an opossum. Currently my personal critter mafia consists of three pups, six cats, and two sugar gliders, all from various rescue groups. I am familiar with both RAW and BARF diets for pets. I have been feeding my cats and dogs 100% RAW for over 4 years. If you have a non-commercial/alternative diet plan for your pet, let me know and I will be happy to accommodate. I currently work from home running an online collectables business with my husband. This allows me the flexibility needed to help you care for your pets. PET VISITS: In additional to your pet getting lots of love and pets, they will also get fresh water and food as directed. Along with some intensely fun playtime. Kitties will get their litter boxes scooped. If requested I can also bringing in your mail/newspapers/packages, rotate your lights that are off and on, water plants (atrium set-ups excluded), take out and bring in trash and recycle cans. DOG WALKS: Your pets health and happiness is my top priority. While exercise is very important, it can also be dangerous. I do not take pets on walks if the temperature is to hot as paw pads can easily be burned on asphalt heated up by the June Florida sun in the middle of the afternoon. If i feel it is not safe to walk your pet outdoors, I will ensure they get as much exercise as possible playing games either in your bark yard, or inside the home. The same applies if there is a severe storm outside. This also applies n the rare occurrence it is to cold, either early morning or late night visits when temps can be near freezing those few random days in the winter. HOUSE SITTING: In addition to caring for and playing with your pets, I will water plants, switch lights off and on, and bring in your mail and news paper to keep your home looking "lived in". A house that looks like it is sitting empty is a target for criminals.
