I'm Ready for Any Dog, Any Time
Pet care experience
Before going to PT school and becoming a professor, I lived on a farm in NH for most of my life with dogs, pigs, chickens, and turkeys so I’m ready to handle most animal behaviors. I’ve been on Rover actively for 2 years. I love getting down on a dogs level and I am willing to play with the rowdiest of pups or go with the flow of a more mellow pooch. I will care for your canine with the same love, patience, and energy I would my own pup, Pippa. I have my summers pretty free since I am a college professor so I am more flexible in the summer months. You can be assured that when I am with your pet that I will be able to give them all the exercise and playtime they could ask for.

Kristopher was a superlative dog-sitter during my 4-day trip. He took excellent care of my dog, who had developed a skin irritation that she was making worse by licking and chewing. Kristopher applied medicine, gave her a needed bath, found a cone to keep her from making things worse, and communicated with me during the whole process. He was smart, attentive, and endearing to my dog. I couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful and caring sitter.

Kris dogsat for my puppy and my sister’s dog and did and wonderful job! He was able to help us out on short notice, which we really appreciated. He was very communicative, kept us updated on how the dogs were doing, and took them on out multiple walks together (no easy feat for our energetic pups!) My home is not suitable for most dogs to be boarded unless they are comfortable being crated and get along really well with my anxious pup, Pippa. Boarding is a really limited case by case basis and we would need to introduce Pippa to your dog before we could consider that. I can come to your home easily otherwise.

I just want to know their size, how well they listen to commands, and what their activity level is like. From there I will get to know your pet on my own and from what you feel is important to know. I have no preference for breed. I have cared for other dogs from a German Shepard to a Pug.
A typical day
If there is water available I would love to take the dog for a swim. The dog park is a great option as well if your dog is a more social pup. I like to do a smelling game sometime if I have some lavender and leave bits of it on the trail for hound dogs and have them find it on the way back.

Availability
I am free virtually all morning during the summer unless I have other plans or bookings. I work part-time in the summer during the evenings at the hospital and during the academic year I teach full-time at Ithaca College. Pet care is a part time passion hobby and I love learning how to train dogs and improve their trust and respect of their handlers.
