Pet care experience
One of my former dogs was a black lab who had 3 legs; he lost one of his front legs to bone cancer. I adopted him this way and was able to care for him for 4 years before he crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. Drake, one of my dogs now, is 18 1/2 and is completely blind; I've had him now for over 12 years. I have modified my home to help accommodate Drake's blindness as much as possible. I've purchased a used baby stroller to take him on "smell" walks. He loves to sit in it while I push him and stick his nose up in the air. I was the proud owner of a teacup Chihuahua (Sweet Pea) and also a pug (Lionel). For 3 years, I rented a room out of my home to a woman who has a large female Landseer Newfoundland. She worked the night shift which meant I was usually home and around her dog, Luna, all day and as a result I helped take care of her quite a bit. She has moved out now and in December 2020 I adopted my newest pup, Gio. He is super friendly, good with other dogs, and loves to play and go on walks.
Reviews
Gus is in great hands with Kristine. This is our third time working with her. Excellent care and communication!
Kristine was fantastic. I have a special-needs dog who can’t be left with just anyone. He did so well for the two weeks that I was gone. I got pictures and videos every day and I actually think my dog was sad to come home. I will use her anytime I go on vacation.
Thank you so much for taking care of Shelby! We appreciate the great care you provide!
Kristine does/did a great job watching our pup, JoJo. Excellent communication and picture updates. Also very accommodating to drop-off and pick-up times. Would recommend. 😁

I have a fenced backyard and let my two dogs have free access to my entire home. On nice days I leave my backdoor open so they can go in and out as they please. I take my youngest, Gio, on at least two walks a day and try to go as often as we can to one of the seven dog parks we like to visit around the Twin Cities. Usually at night during our bedtime walk, I will include Drake, my senior dog, by pushing him in a stroller. He's over 15yrs old and blind. I have an extra bedroom with a door to close to help crate your dog(s) in there if needed; feed them in there too. I also have an enclosed front porch with a door than can be used as an extra space if needed. Your dog(s) are more than welcome to roam freely around my house too. Not a problem. All I ask is that they be house trained and be given tips if they have a tendency to want to chew certain things like slippers or shoes. I love animals and have a soft spot in my heart for them, especially for disabled dogs. I also have owned cats before and know how to take care of them too. If you have a cat though, I would not be able to board them but rather be more able to stop by and check in on them, play and feed them, and clean their litter box too.

Information Kristine R. would like to know about your pet
I always think it's good to know their routine with walks, play, feeding times and bedtime too. In addition, are there certain toys, sounds or movements from people that would upset them for some reason. I would also like to know if you dog has separation anxiety and if so, what kind of tips you'd recommend to help them get through it.
A typical day
I love to explore new routes when walking with dogs. For example, we may go down one street for our morning walk and then a different street for our evening walk; I understand how different smells can be stimulating for dogs. If owners are comfortable with dog parks, I'm more than happy to go to them. I have been to several around town (Battle Creek in Maple Wood, Minnehaha in Mpls, Kaposia in South St. Paul, Elm Creek in Champlin, Heritage Village Dog Park in Inver Grove Heights and Bald Eagle near Otter Lake in White Bear Lake). I love to play fetch and also tug-o-war with dogs.
