Feed, Walk, Belly-Rub, & Love!

Pet care experience

I am a dog-lover with lots of experience who frequently dog sits for friends and family. I have a duplex with a backyard that is partially fenced. I work full-time, but have flexibility to accommodate your needs. When not working, I spend most of my time at home. I love to cook, play with the dogs, go for long walks, and relax in the backyard. I have experience walking, training, and doing agility with dogs. I have experience with dogs dealing with sicknesses including diabetes and cushings disease, and have had to administer oral medications and give daily shots. I treat my guests like my own pets, and make sure accurate and safe feeding, walking, exercising, and playing takes place! Consider me to watch your dog, so you don't have to worry about a thing. Why I love dog sitting: I have been a dog lover since I was a little! We got our first family puppy when I was 5 years old. I have had breeds including a cocker spaniel mix, chihuahuas, jack russell terrier/border collie, rat terrier/lab mix, australian cattle dog, and a brittany spaniel/border collie mix. I have also done agility training with two of my dogs previously. About my yard: My backyard is fenced in with a small grassy area (large enough for bathroom breaks and up to medium sized dogs to play comfortably). I take frequent trips to the backyard and only allow dogs to be out there with supervision and only off-leash if you can assure me your dog has a very srong recall. I make sure when your dogs are here, I am playing and interacting. I am absolutely committed to keeping all dogs safe. Whatever you are comfortable with, I will make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and attention! My experience administering medication: I am comfortable administering medication and have needed to do so for previous family dogs. I previously care for a dog that had cushings disease and diabetes. She passed away the following year from complications of those diseases and heart problems that made extra surgeries impossible. I administered her insulin accurately and on time every time, keeping her comfortable and making sure to follow up with the vet frequently as she went through the final stages of her years on earth. I believe in treating animals with dignity and respect and making sure they are comfortable and happy all the time.

Absolutely wonderful service. Kristina kept us informed on Pudge and sent us photos of his activities. She made sure he got his medications too. Definitely will have Pudge stay with her again.

Kristina was extremely attentive and loving toward our dog. She consistently gave updates and was really great about giving our dog her medication. I would definitely use her again!!

Sadie just loves staying with Kristina and Kyle and their dogs. They send me photos and Sadie always has a big smile. When we pick her up, she is dancing around and when she gets home, she just passes out from all the fun she had. I hope that Kristina and Kyle can always be Sadie's doggie sitters.

This is the third time that Sadie has stayed with Kristina and Kyle and I can tell she just loves it. Every time we pick her up, she's so Kristina and Kyle also have a lot of fun activities for Sadie, from walks, to cuddles, to playing in the grass and a little pool. Highly, highly recommended!

Information Kristina O. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know any special needs including medical or social/emotional needs. If your dog has a sensitivity to any sorts of sounds, light, anything like that, we like to be aware so we can make sure we are a good fit and can provide your dog with the best possible experience. Due to having neighbors and wanting to be respectful, we also like to be aware of any marking or barking/seperation anxiety we could anticipate with your dog. Lastly, if your dog has exhibited aggressive or violent behavior, I need to know beforehand so I am prepared and know how to handle your dog best.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks: We will take your dog on walks in our neighborhood, Logan Square, which is a safe neighborhood. We live across the street from an active Catholic Church, and there are always people nearby looking out for the residents on our street. The streets are well lit, and I have not seen any bad encounters with people or animals in this neighborhood for as long as we have lived here. We do not walk dogs to unsafe neighborhoods. We are very present and actively engaged with dogs on walks, there is no phones or distractions around other than stopping to snap an occasional picture to send to you! The thing we're most proud of: Taking stellar pictures of your dog that you may actually want to print and frame. It's the thing we get complimented on almost more than anything! Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Your dog can sleep wherever it is comfortable. If you have a crate that you prefer to use, that's wonderful. We also have several couches and dog beds with washable slipcovers that they are welcome to sleep on as well. Time I'll spend with your dog: Much of our lives revolves around our dogs and socializing them, exercising them, and playing with them. Your dog would receive no less. We would not only give your dog several walks per day, but we would interact with your dog by playing with whatever toys it likes, making sure it gets tuckered out, and then giving it a warm place to snuggle in and be comfortable. We love spending time in the backyard even in the snow, and your dog would never be unattended.
