Pet care experience

Friends, housemates, co-workers and employers have relied on me to watch their animals of all kinds since I moved to Downtown Denver, Colorado in 2003.

Kristina was awesome, we met beforehand and went on a quick walk together but she did great with our big quirky German shepherd - thank you so much

Safety, trust & environment

Before I started pet sitting (and prior to being a Paralegal) I cleaned houses all over the Denver metro area. I am used to being responsible for keys, fobs and alarm codes. Accordingly I am familiar with personal preferences of all kinds when staying in your home. Just please let me know what works best for you and I will be respectful of you and your pet’s needs. I have a lot of experience taking care of senior pets and am able to cater to their needs very well. On the other hand, I am still learning how to work with puppies. I also love cats just as much as I love dogs. I have always had a pet cat and understand their needs very well. I also have experience with cats that have special needs. One of my cats is considered “low vision”. I’m not afraid to be scratched or bitten, but always try to avoid over stimulating the felines. Please reach out if you have a cat (or cats) or both as I would love to get to know them. I have always felt like cats can immediately tell that I am a friend and they are safe with me. I don’t want to limit my services to only dogs. Furthermore I have experience with ferrets, fish, birds and turtles. And I’m not afraid of snakes or other scaled pets. I am always willing to learn how to care for any animals. So please reach out no matter what type of pet you have. I will take great care of them for you! I love learning so please do not hesitate to educate me on anything or any area where I lack the appropriate knowledge. For example, I am willing to learn how to give injectable medication to your pets. I just need someone to instruct me on how to do so. All I ask is that you are upfront with me when it comes to behavioral issues or concerns so that I am fully prepared should the occasion arise. My dog had separation anxiety and turned into Houdini every time he was left alone. So I have a lot of experience dealing with dog and cat quirks. Please do not worry that providing these details will cause me to cancel!! My requirements for the sit are pretty basic. I will need a bed (air mattress or couch) with clean sheets, a towel, access to your television with cable or your apps with access, and your Wi-Fi password. I don’t do well in the heat so I really need a space that is cool or has air conditioning or fans in the summer.

Information Kristina C. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has any behavioral issues, is an escape artist, has special needs, requires medication, has fears of loud noises/wind/children, is food aggressive, doesn’t mix with other dogs, sprints after birds/cats/bunnies on walks etc. so that I am prepared in case one of these occasions arise. I have dealt with all kinds of issues before. I have direct experience with fear of loud noises, escape artists, and separation anxiety. I have prepared many frozen peanut butter filled Kongs! Lol I also will need to know their feeding and medication schedules (if taking meds). Most of the time pet parents leave me a note with all of this information as well as anything I need to know about their home. The list should also include Wi-Fi password and instructions on how to use your tv and what apps, if any, I am able to use. I will ask for this at the meet and greet. So no worries if you forget. I am happy to collect your mail, water any plants, etc. during a housesitting stay. Just let me know what you need me to take care of while you are away.

A typical day

- I like to take the dogs I watch on at least one walk a day. - I am not a runner and have a pretty bad reaction to the heat so I won’t be able to run your dog or spend long periods of time outside in the direct sunlight. - I prefer to avoid dog parks unless a pet parent directly asks me to take their dog(s) to a specific dog park that their dog(s) are accustomed to. - I will not have your pet off-leash unless directly asked to do so. - Lots of snuggles and pets

I am currently working part time for Home-a-Glow and Instacart, but Rover is my main gig and preferred income stream at this time. I can be available whenever needed if provided a few days notification. I have a one-hour commitment every Monday and Thursday morning, otherwise my schedule is very flexible. Previously I worked as a Paralegal for a family law firm. I am enjoying working for Rover while I determine what career path I’m going to pursue. Rover also allows me to receive much needed doggy lovin’ that I’ve been missing since my beloved Lunar crossed the 🌈 rainbow bridge in 2021. I can also provide services similar to a babysitter if you need help for longer than 30 minutes to an hour. I haven’t figured out how to do this through the app, but am happy to figure something out with you to fulfill your needs. I have a few clients who ask me to sit for 4-8 hours during the day so that they can take day trips up the hill etc. I have been asked by clients for references and am happy to provide these to you if you would like them. Just let me know and I will send the details to you.
