Pet care experience
I have been a dog fancier, trainer, and photographer since 2000. I have extensive experience with large and small terriers, labs, and shepherds, but love all breeds. I have trained and competed in AKC obedience and conformation shows and canine endurance tests. I am currently training with my dog in IPO, a challenging, three phase dog sport. In addition to dog sports, I have been a runner, skier, tennis player and occasional hiker since high school. Fast or slow, leisurely or vigorous, I can provide your pet the best level of exercise for their individual needs and routines. I know how difficult it can be to leave your pet alone all day while you work or travel and am happy to send pictures and video during each visit or outing. I am always available to answer any questions you may have before, during and after our visits. Whether your pet needs cuddles on the couch, a vigorous run to blow off steam, or anything in between, I'm here for you.

Kristin is great. Very knowledgeable about dogs and great with my 2 17month old labs. She is very flexible with her schedule and aware of healthiest times for dogs to be out exercising. She also adds a bit of training into the walk, which is perfect for me.
Our rescue Winnie can be timid and fearful, but Kristin made us feel at ease during her first time ever being away from us for a weekend! We knew she'd be in good hands when she came over for a meet & greet a few days before her stay, and Winnie wouldn't stop begging for Kristin's pets and attention. We loved receiving the photo updates and could tell that she felt comfortable in her home (relaxing on the couch within the first 20 minutes of dropping her off!). We will definitely use Kristin again for future stays.
We are so lucky to have found Kristin! She takes such good care of Riggins and he is always so happy! The video and picture updates also help put us at ease when we have to leave him because he is always having so much fun! She is also very knowledgeable about dogs and we have no doubt Riggins is in great hands with her.

My own dogs live in the house, and enjoy daily exercise or training, as I believe mental and physical stimulation are equally important for our dogs.

I am open to all breeds and understand that different breeds have different temperaments and needs during their visit. All dogs are individuals, so each care plan must be tailored to that individuality.
A typical day
My favorite things to do with dogs include walks through the neighborhood or the nearby state park, and swimming in the Bay. I also believe in engaging my dog mentally and physically every day. I utilize balanced marker training to build fluid communication with my dog. If this is something your dog enjoys, or needs, I am happy to help!

Availability
I live on Kent Island, and have wide-open availability to help you and your pet during the week except for Wednesdays and Saturdays, as I work 9a-5p those days. I am available before and after my work schedule on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Rover will pull sitters within an area radius, which doesn't always work with our crazy Maryland roads, which can totally skew the distances, so please check your location in relation to Kent Island.
