Pooch Pad Pet Care: customized care
Pet care experience
We are a family with dogs, different dogs all year. We treat your dogs as one of our family, either in our home, on dog walks, or when visiting your pets in your home. We live in a small neighborhood off gold-hill road, a dog-friendly walkable community. I'm a work-at-home mom whose youngest is in 2nd grade. my 13 year old helps care for the dogs in our home, and my oldest does in-home drop-ins, walks, and overnights in your pets home. I enjoy exercising w/ dogs outdoors for walks or wooded hikes while my kids are at school. My family and I love having furry friends in our home and as part of our livelihood. We provide basic obedience reinforcement and tailor activities to your dogs' familiar routines. I find a well-exercised dog is content and happy. We either walk, or play in the large fenced yard daily. Dogs have outside fenced access whenever they ask. I’m home often only leaving for sporadic errands and daily dog walks, between 10 AM-2 PM. I currently have openings each day during this daily dog walk window. I start my visit/ walking clock when I begin & end contact w/ your dog(s). At home, my guest dogs and I keep each other company throughout the day. In my home office, I often have resting dogs gathered around my feet. When my children are home they romp in the backyard with our guest dogs or we take a walks through the wooded trail. When I leave the home I make sure your dog is safe. I have a large indoor dog room w/ crates, beds, toys & water. Most dogs are secured in crates w/ in this room when I leave but if not comfortable can stay w/ in the dog room. My three boys and I (8, 13, & 18) love caring for dogs in our home because of all the great breeds and personalities we encounter. We also find that dog people ( owners) are some of the best people. My dog Aary loves that we board dogs because she has ample revolving play dates and maintains her well-socialized temperament. ~ Each night is billed on a 24 hour cycle ~ Early drop off ( before 7:45 A:M) is additional. ~ A hard or emailed copy of up to date vaccinations, rabies & bordetella, are required.

Great Rover family - will use again!
Jake had a great visit! Very happy- will definitely have him stay here again
Kristen is wonderful! Both our dogs started to sing as soon as pulled up in front of her house, and they ran inside - they couldn't wait to go in and play with the other dogs. Kristen sends daily updates with photos. We can't say enough about her.
Kristen and her family are great! My only problem is I'm not sure Mali wants to come after a visit! Kristen takes great care to exercise and play with Mali while she's there, she treats her like her own and Mali is thoroughly worn out when she comes home. It gives me such peace of mind to know she is well cared for when I take long trips and even for just a day of fun, I know she will have a great time. I highly recommend Kristen!

I have varying established routines depending on the care I’m giving and what your dog/ pets are accustomed to. Details will be discussed in your meet & greet. I have a specific push /pull latch on my outside gates that mush be aligned to the median point in order to open. No dog has been able to open these latches, since they require the skill of opposable thumbs.

Information Kristen S. would like to know about your pet
We enjoy most breeds, Large and small. Our main requirements are that your pup is well-socialized with other dogs, and has experience with children. We are not able to take pups that must be kept separate from other dogs, or have issues/ are uncomfortable around kids.
A typical day
We walk the neighborhood which has sidewalks that partially wind through wooded areas. I spend time supervising and encouraging dogs to play with one another within our large fenced-in backyard. We have a basket of toys for dogs to choose from: balls, squeak toys, & tug-of-war toys. chew toys are given under close supervision, sometimes in the safety of a crate. before I leave my home I make sure all dogs have a chance to potty, then I crate/separate them while I am gone. If permitted they get a small treat before I head out the door. treats once crated also encourages them w/ rewards to enter their crates w/ease. more details about our day to day under Schedule

Availability
The dogs in my home are on a scheduled routine that fits in w/ my/ my kids schedule. They are let outside first thing in the morning, 6-7AM. They get breakfast between 7-8AM they have a walk and / or supervised play time multiple times during mid-morning to afternoon. Dinner is between 5-6PM, typically before my family eats but sometimes simultaneously. Dogs have lounge time in the evening on the main floor of the house while I cook & clean up dinner, I aim to have the dogs and kids in a more relaxed mood after dinner as I tidy up for the evening. My kids will often lounge in the living room after dinner petting cuddling and or playing w/ visiting pups. On occasion, I will walk dogs in the evening especially in warmer weather if they, I, or the kids seem to need it. A walk is a great reset: a way for both people and dogs to take a break and have a change of scenery. Doggie's bedtime during the week is between 9:30-10PM, following last potty call. I sometimes stay up later on weekends watching movies/ netflix w/ my youngest son and the dogs on the main floor w/ the dogs. I make sure all dogs go out in the yard and attempt to eliminate before being “ tucked into crates” or a bed in the dog room. Most dogs are content sleeping in crates within the dog room. These dogs are their current pack.
