I’m an animal lover who has always had a dog or multiple dogs. Our dog has always been an important member of our family, and yours would be provided the same love and respect while given full access to our home. Our family has had the pleasure of sitting for a number of different dogs. We really enjoy getting to meet and spend time with other people’s pets. Your pet will get lots of attention, and we’ll make sure they are very comfortable. In the event I am caring for your pet in your home you can be assured your home will be treated with the upmost respect and care. I’m pretty flexible in providing drop-in services or whatever services you may need, so please don’t hesitate to ask. Myself and/or my two teenage sons will offer your pet plenty of play time and/or exercise. Your dog would need to be controlled enough to walk on a leash or listen well to commands for me to exercise him/her outside of a fenced yard. A very strong and rambunctious dog, or one who tries to pull/run away constantly may not be a very good fit. We can be also be less active if your dog is old or prefers to rest. I may have more than 1 dog at my home for a stay; however, this will be dependent on each of the owners feelings toward their dog being with another dog. We can introduce them and monitor for a bit just to make sure that they are compatible. If you would prefer your dog to be the only dog to stay please let me know while booking. We do have a 10 lb mixed breed dog named Levi who loves to meet new friends. He is a neutered male who is a playful pup at 10 months old, but he has a pretty passive personality. He has not been the alpha male in his other social interactions. If your dog uses a kennel you are welcome to bring one for your dog’s stay. We do not have any kennels, so if you have a puppy in training or it is the usual sleeping arrangement please bring one along. We do not have a fenced in yard; however, our house sits a nice distance back from Pike River road which has very little traffic. We will not let dogs go near the end of the driveway and have lots of space around the house, barn, garden, orchards, and fields which are not near the road. We can keep your dog on a leash at all times if this is necessary. We will not leave your dog outside unattended at any time. I will be sure to keep you updated and you are welcome to call or check-in at anytime. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions or specify any special needs or care instructions you have. A dog boarding typically runs for a 24 hr period. If you are beyond 1-2 hours from your drop off time I may need to add on some doggy day care for the extra time. So if you drop off at 9 am on Wednesday you’ll need to pick up at 9 am Thursday. If you did not come until 8 pm on Thursday you would be charged a day care service for that day.
