Pet care experience
My life is all about animals. I have been part of the Chicago animal community since helping with rescue efforts in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. I have volunteered my time helping homeless animals in Chicago through rescue for over 13 years. I now run a local animal rescue who takes in cats, dogs, and rabbits. I have extensive experience with special needs animals including those who are paralyzed, blind, deaf, require medications (including injections), seniors, have behavior challenges, are feral/shy, or who just need a little extra love. My current resident animals welcome all canine visitors and are used to all the special cases that enter our home. My space is clean and calm. I have not met a dog yet who has not loved visiting.

Kristen is amazing! We left our Benny with her for two nights while we were away! Kristen sent multiple pictures and stayed in contact with us throughout Benny’s stay. I can't think of a better person to care for your special fur baby. Kristen went above and beyond to care for my little Mac. He is a unique rescue, approaching his senior years, that can be picky and persnickety. He loves to shadow his humans and Kristen was joyously accommodating to make sure he felt comfortable without me. They played and cuddled and did everything possible to make him feel like he was on a vacation. She also kept be abreast with multiple updates each day--through texts, pictures, and videos--so I always knew exactly what was happening. I know Mac enjoyed his stay immensely. I will definitely use her services again when I have to go away and can't take my little guy with me.

Any dog that comes into my home must be cat and dog friendly. I conduct an initial meet and greet prior to any boarder arriving to ensure it's a good match.
A typical day
There is a 1-mile trail on the property and the dogs can enjoy long walks in nature. I love taking my dogs on little adventures to local parks and the lake for long walks as well.

I work from home so I have plenty of time to give any dog boarding with me the attention they need and require. I have my own animals as well and make sure everyone gets quality time.
