I have a genuine heart for animals

Pet care experience

Hello. I'm Kristen Fernandez. I am here to provide services for owners who may be unable or unavailable to take care of their pets. I don't only care for dogs and cats. I enjoy all animals and I love helping people. I currently spend 4 days out of the week I volunteering at the animal shelter. So I have sufficient experience handling caged animals of all different personalities. I provide dog walking as well as drop in visits to check on your pet, play with it, clean it, feed it, love it, etc.... I'm also willing to do any clean up required as well. Such as, clean litter boxes, pick up yard feces, clean cages, kennels, terrariums, basic fish bowl tanks, etc....I can also provide basic dog "manners" such as sit, stay, down, leave it, and come, for a puppy or any other dog for that matter. I am a graduate from Penn Foster College, certified as a Dog Obedience/ Training Instructor as well as I am currently enrolled in the Veterinary Assistant program. I am also here to provide sufficient exercise for your dog or cat. I take dogs on walks, and entertain a playful cats. Overall, I am here to help you help your pet. I enjoy it. It makes me happy and I would enjoy working with your pets as well.

Kristen has been dog sitting for my Husky ever since he came into my life seven years ago. Whenever I can't be around she is my go to sitter. She goes above and beyond what I expect from any dog sitter and she is available whenever I need her.

I have 2 cats a 1 very large dog. My dog is very friendly and loving, so he requires attention every minute that he is awake. The first time that I saw Kristen with him, it was a relief to see that she understood his needs and was sympathetic to them. I recommend Kristen and undoubtedly trust her with my furry little (big) ones.

I have known Kristen since she was a toddler, and have always found her to be extremely loving towards all pets. She provides the utmost in care and attention to any and all pets, especially dogs and cats. She has a good understanding of the basic needs of animals, is compassionate and has the ability to care for your pet flawlessly. Whether the need is doggy day care, dog walking, drip-in visits or house siting you need look no further.

I would also like to add that when I was out of the country on vacation, I entrusted her with my dog and she took excellent care of her. Thanks again Kristen!!! I highly recmoment her and will use her again.

Information Kristen F. would like to know about your pet

I don't have any breed preferences. I would need to know just a basic history of your dog. I cannot care for aggressive dogs that have bitten in the past. I do require a meet and greet before assuring any jobs. I would go to your home and we would introduce, then you, being the pack leader, you would need to introduce me to your dog then. Invite me in along with your dog and show me everywhere your dog is allowed to go. Of course I would need to know about your rules for your dog in the house, and if there are any other places on the property the dog is allowed to go. Then if I feel it need be, to allow me to interact with your dog in front of you for a bit if it is obvious the dog is not comfortable at first with only a slight indrotuction and the rules for the dog....To come to think of it I can't ever remember any dog in my past before not ever liking me after meeting them. Oh yes, one more thing I enjoy doing with dogs, especially extremely active or elderly dogs, is to give massages. Having you ever tried massaging your dog? They love it!. So for now, unless I have future questions regarding your dog, if we ever paths, I will definitely be asking them though.

A typical day

Well honestly it would be up for what your animal wants to do and is capable of. If your dog likes to play fetch, we'll play fetch, if it likes to play tug, we'll play tug. I don't like to call it tug of war because you don't want to be too aggressive when it comes to that play. Or if your dog just likes to run or swim, if there are places available, we will try that. If your dog or cat loves the laser light chase? I had a Dog that used to love trying to catch bubbles. It really depends on what your dog is up for. Maybe it hasn't discovered a type of play it likes yet? Or if your puppy or dog needs any training, maybe we can practice a little proper manners training first if your dog doesn't know how to perform any of those. Basic manners include, sit, stay, leave it, down, and come on command. There is a wide variety of things to do with a new dog that has not yet been taught or been exposed to yet, puppy or not, pure bread or mixed, male or female. No, I can't make your dog do everything you may would want or like it to do mainly depending on breed or mixed breeds. Like for instance I won't take a Dog that doesn't particularly enjoy playing in the water, I'm not going to take it to the beach. Or if your dog hasn't been properly socialized during it's puppy stage, say a rescue dog that has been abused, it would not be a good idea to take them to a Dog park, not unless it's had proper obedience/ socializing training first right?. But I can guarantee that while I am with your dog and we, your dog and I, are able to establish a level of trust between us, I will do my best to entertain, teach, and care for it as if it were my own dog.
