Pet care experience
I’m a 30-year-old Aussie who’s been in the Midwest for the past six years! Initially moved here to study playwriting and screenwriting at Northwestern, and I’m now working as a dog walker and dog sitter while I continue my studies at Western Michigan University. I have dual citizenship and grew up with two beautiful standard poodles (we had them until I was in my early twenties). I love dogs more than anything and get my excercise walking around town and going for short hikes in nearby preserves, and I recently lost my dear adopted pup Laurie after a long battle with cancer. It would be a joy to get to fill some of that empty space in my life now looking after your dog, taking them to Fairmont Park for a run or walking around Kleinstuck Preserve to try to spot some deer!

Kristen was a great dog sitter! We were able to get together ahead of time prior to her watching Henry so we could meet and I could see her space. She sent updates every day during Henry’s stay. She was very kind and very communicative throughout the whole process. I would definitely have her watch him again!

My apartment building is quite small with just a few units and located in a lovely neighborhood for walks. I have a two bedroom apartment and plenty of space for you to bring a dog bed if you’d like.

It’s great to know the pup’s feeding schedule, behavior around other dogs, and whether they take any supplements or need medication. Also any quirks in terms of playing or walking behavior.
A typical day
I usually go for a lengthy walk in the morning and spend the afternoons preparing lesson plans or doing the readings for my classes. Another walk in the late afternoon and during the evenings just relaxing at home.

Availability
I’m teaching just one class each semester at Western and have Mondays and Wednesdays completely free, so I’ll have plenty of time during the day to take your pup for walks and give them lots of attention. Only one night class this semester on Thursdays.
