Hi I'm Kristan!! I am a 31 year old, experienced pet sitter and dog walker! I am passionate about animal care and can provide care for a variety of pets! I am comfortable with Dogs and Cats, Reptiles, Small Furry Animals, Fish, Birds, Ducks and Chickens, Some Farm Animals and some Exotics. I have around 17 years of personal and professional experience with animals. Beginning my career path at a local Pet Store at 16, I worked my way through positions such as Cashier, Stock team and Animal Care, Adoption Specialist and eventually became Assistant Store Manager. In store, we were able to care for so many animals while awaiting their new homes and it was at that time that I knew I always wanted to be a part of taking care of and loving animals. Although I loved my management position at the pet store, I was offered a great opportunity working at a Veterinary Clinic while living in Grand Rapids. There, I was able to care for Dogs and Cats that were awaiting their new homes in our Adoption Center! I was given the opportunity to care for client's animals coming into the clinic for appointments and was able to learn so much while being lightly cross-trained with the Veterinary Technicians working in the back with injured and sick animals. While working in the clinic a few years ago, I discovered that I wanted to return to school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician which is currently what I am doing. I moved back to Oakland County last year to be closer to Family as well as to return to school! On top of my experience listed above, I have worked for two separate Pet Sitting Companies within Metro Detroit and Grand Rapids. I would be happy to provide references from any of my past animal related positions to you if need be! In addition to returning to school, I would LOVE to be able to provide services in the community for people who may need short overnight sitting while they are away, daily visits or walks, feeding visits or medication visits, etc. I greatly miss being around a plethora of animals all the time which is why I have decided to join Rover and meet some new furry friends in the area!
