Pet care experience
I have been the resident Dog Auntie for friends and family since early adulthood. I am extremely active and like to take dogs to the dog park, hiking, canoeing, biking, swimming, whatever they like! Big or small, sassy or sweet, I like them all, and dogs seem to have an affinity for me too. I also am happy to house sit and watch cats or other animals as well as tend to plants in the house. I have been dog sitting in the Madison, WI area since 2017, before that I was based in Anchorage, AK. I am available to house sit in the Madison metro area, and outside areas are negotiable. Daily walks and exercise, as well as plenty of love and attention are guaranteed. I am happy to provide references from some of my dog pals' parents. I also (remotely) run a small dog rescue in San Andres Island,, Colombia. Where my husband and I rescued 8 abandoned puppies, rehabilitated them and adopted (most) of them back out :). We have two that still live with my husband on the island. We now partner with other groups to help street dogs as well as raise funds to help neighbors take care of their animals properly, providing medical services, food and education.

Krista loves dogs. She repeatedly comes to my home to kidnap our black labrador, Bridger, to take him on mountain runs, overnight trips, and even just to take him to the university lake dog park. It has gotten to the point that Bridger is more excited to see her come over than to see my wife and I come home. He always tries to leave with her whether she is taking him or not, he even chased her car for a couple blocks to give her another opportunity to kidnap him. Full disclosure, Krista is my sister and has been dog sitting Bridger since she moved to Anchorage, and all of the things I mentioned above, she has done for us for free because she truely enjoys the company of canines. When we were children and I wanted to grow up to be a hockey player, president, astronaut, doctor, lawyer, , Krista wanted to be a dog rancher. IE have a farm with lots of dogs (not breeding, just a dude ranch for dogs). While I am not a doctor, lawyer, astronaut or president, Krista is getting closer to her dream of being a dog rancher.
Krista Milliken embodies all that it means to be a "dog lover." I recommend her whole heartedly to be a dog walker and trust 100% that she will do a fabulous job! Krista has dog sat for my own dog, Bentley countless times. Bentley always returns to us happy as can be . :) woof woof and happy walking to all the lucky pups who get to go on a frolick with Krista !
Krista is a gem! It is so rare to find someone that loves our dog as much as we do... but Krista truly does! I can't think of a more perfect person to love on our pup while we're away.
Krista was the best dog auntie! My pup Franklin was so tired after a good long hike and a weekend spent away with her. Drop off and pick up was super easy too. Franklin is pretty neurotic and needs to warm up to new people - and Krista was very kind and patient with him. I would recommend her to anyone!

Availability
I am back in the office most days with flexibility in hours. I can provide full time care before and after work hours as well as midday potty breaks as needed. When I’m dog sitting, I spend the majority of my time bonding with your pets.
