I have owned and cared for dogs for the past 17 years. I love all breeds big and small and have been fortunate to love and care for my Rottweiler, German Shepherd and Pit-mix. I am certified in Animal Behavior Studies and train all my dogs using Positive reinforcement and always staying calm and relaxed. I worked in an animal shelter for 3 years and was asked to take home "the worst dog" to see if I could train her for adoption, ( she was returned to the shelter 3 times!!!) Needless to say, I fell in love with her and she became an addition to our family as well as a "demo" dog at the shelter to showcase her training !! Taking long walks and hikes with my dog(s) helps me to appreciate the world around me. I am a true believer, and thru my experience with training that a well exercised dog is a well balanced dog !! The relationship between animals and humans is so valuable and I love to learn from them, yup, I have learned so much from them over the years. All my walks incorporate ( if needed ) a level of training: sitting calmly while we exit the home, sitting and staying at corners/ busy intersections and not pulling on leash. I do not just walk dogs, I engage them while we are walking making sure they are exercised and have FUN at the same time!!!
