Welcome! I work in special education providing applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to individuals with substantial behavioral challenges, mostly diagnosed with autism or other developmental disorder. That is a how I feel I have learned to be an objective, patient communicator. I typically desire structure and consistency in things, but I maintain proficient crisis response skills and flexibility when the situation arises. This transfers very well to animals. When I was a toddler, my parents found a German Shepherd abandoned on our doorstep as what appeared to be an unwanted Christmas gift. He spent 15 loving years by our side until he passed. I also spent many years also living with my grandparents' Scottie into her old age. I have sat for a handful of other various dogs in the house-sitting situation as well as check-ins for walks and such. I prefer medium to large dogs, but I get along great with all of them! I love pit bulls and wish I could have one (more like all the dogs!), but almost 10 years ago I did not think it would be fair with my previous schedule and living environment. So, I got a chinchilla. Sam is the most wonderful little fur ball and I hope for a longlasting life with him, and maybe a puppy or two sometime.
